THE MAJOR’S LETTER is a fictional account of the last week in the life of Union Major Sullivan Ballou, featuring the famous letter he wrote to his wife Sarah shortly before his death at the Battle of Bull Run. Made famous by the PBS Documentary “The Civil War,” Ballou’s letter has been called one of the most eloquent statements of love and devotion found in 19th century literature.
