I've been so busy writing reviews and attending a conference I haven't had time to post nor read posts. I just rec'd this email from All About Romance and here's the link

Now I think I'm a little different from most of you because:
1) Some authors send me books which I for the most part give away to family and friend
2) I'm an affiliate of Amazon and EHarlequin but to my knowledge no one has purchased a book from their site with the exception of me.
3) I've only received books from two pub houses, Jane Porter's Easy on the Eyes and recently a Lisa Jackson book.
4) Otherwise I purchase the books I review

My contest books I purchased and pay for the shipping.

So, are there any of you out there like me?

I have this disclaimer at the beginning of my blog: PLEASE NOTE: I DO NOT RECEIVE PAY FOR MY BOOK REVIEWS. I DO SOMETIMES RECEIVE FREE REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY COPIES FROM AUTHORS, PUBLISHERS, AND PUBLICISTS. MY FIRST RESPONSIBILITY IS TO MY READERS. I AM COMMITTED TO HONEST REVIEWS.
I hope, eventually, we will be told exactly what is expected of us. I also wonder if we will be taxed for the books we receive.

I'm hoping to find something that will work for the authors who post reviews. Sounds like you reviewers are getting with the game. :) Good for you!

I have no problem with the full disclosure or being in compliance with the FTC regulations however I think they have more important fish to fry than some small blogger. Here is my very rant.

Wendi, I looked at your discloser and did something similar for my blog...will you tell me if this is okay or if I should add or change anything? What should I put in each of my reviews from now on? I review too for Pump up your books...should I say something during the reviews like...thanks to Pump up your books, I have been able to review a copy of (book name here)???

DISCLOSER for BOOKS REVIEWED

In compliance with the new FTC rules involving bloggers who review books I am stating now in this discloser that I DO review books but recieve NO money as compensation for my opinions. There is no endorsing being done. I recieve books for free from publishing companies, authors , LibraryThing, and other book review companies but I am not paid for my opinions. This is my hobby and I love doing it, and when I am finished with my books I donate them to others who can't afford books but love to read or to a local library or charity. I will note that I recieved the book from someone such as the publishing company in all my reviews but again, I recieve NO money for my opinions.

Molly - Yes!! We WILL be ok to keep reviewing. We may simply need to disclose the source of our books in a manner that is more clear to readers. I already say thank you to the person who sent it to me, so I'm basically already disclosing that I received the book to review. . . I've added a disclosure at the bottom of my blog an in my About Me. I'll continue to finesse it depending on what we determine we need to do. :) I do this as a hobby, and don't plan to stop - I'm just going to make sure I have covered myself for liability.
