The Rest Falls Away by Colleen Gleason

It's a mix between a debutante story with dancing bals, gowns and love story and a debutante training to become a vampire hunter. The plot is nice even if I would have prefered more actions and blood.

And the ending is good. It has piqued my curiosity.
Great read to pass an entertaining rainy sunday!

ISBN: 978-1311138705 (ebook)
Pages: 293
Genre: Historical Romance

Love isn’t forbidden to Lady Kirei as long as it’s with a proper gentleman of Kyō and she doesn’t mind sharing him with his wife. Her provincial upbringing makes her socially unacceptable as a true wife, yet as a lady by birth and a court favorite, her position makes it impossible for her to seek a match below her station. She’s trapped.

When a nobleman of similar provincial upbringing arrives in town and becomes an instant favorite of the emperor, he is sent to Lady Kirei for tutoring on city ways. Lord Yūkan is smitten, but she’s not a conquest to be won. She’s a woman of substance and worth, and she’s off limits.

Despite his unrefined manners, Lord Yūkan’s aristocratic bloodline shows through his fine taste and quick mind. It doesn’t hurt that he’s handsome, too. As he begins to touch her heart, Lady Kirei is ever mindful that they can’t commit, especially when her uncle schemes to make her a consort to a prince.

Will her family’s honor relegate her to the shadow-life of a consort, or can love find a way?

Zoe contends with own harrowing memories and relives a day that shattered her soul but out of the darkness there is light.

They get help from two formidable women--Zoe's Aunt, Dr. Stella Nikas-Lambros, an exuberant, zany character in her own right, and Theresa Mitsos, the quiet, gentle soul with extraordinary psychic powers

In Germany they discover secrets that have spanned generations and shocking revelations about Eva's heritage. Their lives are once again altered in ways neither of them expected.

It's more than a lesbian romance, it's a story of secrets, passion and an intertwined destiny.

The Daring Exploits of a Runaway Heiress by Victoria Alexander

Lovely story with a funny adorable duo.
In trying to build some suspense and anticipation, the author has made me sigh once or twice. But she has nice characters who have saved me from my impatience.

New writers are often told to "write what they know." One of the best ways to do this is to choose something the writer is passionate about. That's what Sandra M. Hart has done in writing her historical romance books centered around the Civil War. Read about her writing and her tips for writing and marketing at TheWriteChris.blogspot.com

Join Helen and Paris in Volume II of their epic adventure.

The star-crossed lovers have escaped Mycenae, but they are not safe yet. Still in hostile waters, every port from the Greek mainland to the Old World presents a risk of exposure. The wrath of Menelaus and Agamemnon follows in their wake, but Helen keeps faith that her love for Paris is ordained, trusting to the prophecy of her childhood.

When the Fates force a costly detour to Egypt, Helen and Paris are placed at the mercies of the Egyptian crown and temple. Pharaoh is dying, and the line of succession is anything but secure. The pair soon find themselves embroiled in local politics, and the High Priest of Amun-Re, troubled by conflicting omens, takes a dangerous interest in the forbidden lovers. In order to escape the Two Lands, Paris and Helen will have to decide how many traditions they are willing to forsake in the name of love.

But the sands of the hourglass are running out. Clytemnestra, hell-bent on revenge, has hired a former sell-sword to retrieve her twin at all costs. Little does the queen know, this Scylax is a man conflicted, torn between his allegiance to, and hatred for, royalty. He is a raptor, and once his prey is in sight, he never misses…
