I don't think I've seen any books offered for quite a while.  Does anyone know?

Good question. I wonder how many of the groups are being moderated, period. Not very often you see books posted now.
I've noticed that to. I've been going directly to the publisher or the author anymore. It seems like everyone likes to do ebooks now and I don't have an ereader. I like to curl up in bed when I read and I can't take my computer to bed with me.  Thank heavens!  LOL
I am not fond of reading from the screen due to being a migraine sufferer. I prefer print.
Freda, have you tried the e-ink of Kindle? I can't stand any other e-reader by the Kindle works great. I tried nook color, but that isn't for me.
I was wondering the same thing thanks for posting this
To be honest, I think they are posting the giveaway options on another group....the EARLY BIRDS ARC REVIEW ning group to be exact.  It's "run" by Hachette too.  ^_^

I looked up Valerie Russo and it looks like in February she got a new job. Here is a link to her bio.

My guess is that this group will probably not have any more giveaways. Let me know if you agree.

It's still running. In fact, I'm posting something in a bit.
This is puzzling. This group doesn't appear to be active. It looked like a wonderful idea when I joined since I review Hatchette books already. Anyone know anything?

Hi everyone!

Lori emailed me and let me know that this question has been raised here and I would like to respond.

The moderator of this group, Valerie Russo, has brought her uber online talents to a new company, so she no longer works with us at Hachette. At the time she was with Hachette, one of her many duties was to arrange group, seasonal, and holiday giveaways. Since she has moved on, these duties were not delegated to anyone else, mostly because our Hachette Online Marketing department was restructured and we were distributed among the main Hachette Imprints: Grand Central Publishing, Little Brown, and Faith Words / Center Street.

However, it has happened that I, working for Little, Brown, have posted in this group to offer a seasonal giveaway.  As I told Lori, "we online promoters organize such giveaways only as our campaigns require." I mean this in the general sense, since I do not know for sure if the other imprints have or will create group giveaways in the future. I, however, still think group giveaways is a great idea.

Perhaps my question to Tina would be--would you just like me to create a separate "group giveaway" for myself, as Little, Brown? Or perhaps we can just continue this group, in case my other colleagues from the other imprints would like to post here again?

Let me know!

Tina, in case you'd like to talk about this in private, please feel free to email me at anna.balasi@hbgusa.com

Anna, thanks for responding to the group.

If I had to choose, I would suggest each imprint have its own group since they are different types of books. However, either way would work for me as I check the groups a few times a week for review and giveaway opportunities that would be a good fit for the readers of my blog.

Also, since the group is not very active, perhaps an email notification to group members that a new offer has been posted would be helpful. I missed responding to the last few offers because I hadn't checked the group that week.

I am very glad you are still around Anna! I think that just knowing that the group is still active is fine.So I would say just continue this group.

Thanks for answering :)

Linda
