How to Get Books from Bostick Communications + Reviewing for Bostick 101

A lof of book bloggers just started receiving emails from Bostick automatically with offers of books for review. However you can get on their list yourself by going to their website: http://www.bostickcommunications.com/ and contacting them. Just explain that you are a book blogger and provide your url and mention that you'd like to be included in their mailing list.

You may or may not receive a message back saying you're on the list. You probably won't know until you start receiving emails. All you have to do to ask for a review copy of a book is reply to the email with your mailing address (and I always include my blog url). I usually add a short sentence like: "I would love to review this book." I don't know if this is necessary. You will NOT get a reply. You may or may not receive the book.

Please note that although it looks like the offers are from the book authors, they are all from the same email address as Bostick.. So save any papers that come with your book if they have the author's email so you can alert them when their review is up or ask any questions. If you want to inquire about an interview or giveaway or anything else, use the contact info that came with the book first. If nothing came, then reply to the original offer message and ask that they forward the email on.

NOTE ADDED JUNE 2010:
I've reviewed for Bostick for a few years now and here are some things I've realized/learned:

1. Almost all of the books are self-published.
2. Quite a few of the books aren't good.
3. They NEVER check with you to see if you received or read the book.
4. If you don't review a book they sent you, it doesn't count against you in anyway as they don't seem to keep track.
5. If you don't like a book or don't finish it, you don't have to review it. Do whatever you prefer.
6. If you want to contact the author of the book, just send a message to Bostick asking for your message to go to the author. I've connected with a few authors this way and even asked them if they could secure giveaway copies.

The Hummingbird Garden by Evelyn Schwarz, illustrated by Kitty Quinn

About the Book

Alexis discovers one of nature's miracles! Six-year-old Alexis and her parents have just moved from an apartment in the city to a home in the suburbs. While lying in the grass in her new backyard, Alexis is startled by a tiny flash of color darting by, heading for her neighbor's yard. Peeking through a hole in the fence, she sees a wondrous sight. Her new neighbor's backyard is filled with hundreds of beautiful flowers, and there are colorful glass balls hanging from some of the trees. But the most magical sight of all are the tiny, jewel-like birds flashing by, hovering in midair, and even flying backward! This delightfully illustrated book will bring the world of hummingbirds to life as Alexis learns a valuable lesson about what sharing can accomplish.

KATIE: The Little Girl Who Stuttered and Then Learned to Talk Fluen...

HCRI Founder and President Dr. Ron Webster has penned a delightful children’s storybook,Katie: The Little Girl who Stuttered and Then Learned to Talk Fluently.

This is a true story about a smart, vivacious young girl who wants to overcome her stuttering and speak fluently. Katie’s stuttered speech causes her daily frustration and embarrassment.

The way she talks inhibits her ability to freely share her thoughts and feelings. She endures teasing from other kids. The only time she finds solace is when she escapes to a nearby park where she loves to play hide and seek.

Scented Adventures of The Bouquet Sisters in Fairyland

About The Book

Fairy Tale or True Life? Scented Adventures of The Bouquet Sisters in Fairyland is an interesting combination of both!

Your Children will be delighted to share the mystical adventure of "the Bouquet Sisters," as they fly around the World on their very own magic flying carpet. They are instructed by a beautiful team of Fairies called "The Pretty Fiery Lights," who take them to learn from the "Good Doctor" (Gary Young) at his farm in Utah. The children learn about the Essential Oils and are sent on 7 Missions to anoint the Children of the World and pray for the Miracles needed to heal our World. This book will teach children the importance of prayer in changing things for good and to take care of their own health. The exquisite artwork of Josephine Wall and the "Aroma Scent Release" feature will engage their senses in beauty and the sweet scent of Sacred Oils.
