How to Get Books from Bostick Communications + Reviewing for Bostick 101

A lof of book bloggers just started receiving emails from Bostick automatically with offers of books for review. However you can get on their list yourself by going to their website: http://www.bostickcommunications.com/ and contacting them. Just explain that you are a book blogger and provide your url and mention that you'd like to be included in their mailing list.

You may or may not receive a message back saying you're on the list. You probably won't know until you start receiving emails. All you have to do to ask for a review copy of a book is reply to the email with your mailing address (and I always include my blog url). I usually add a short sentence like: "I would love to review this book." I don't know if this is necessary. You will NOT get a reply. You may or may not receive the book.

Please note that although it looks like the offers are from the book authors, they are all from the same email address as Bostick.. So save any papers that come with your book if they have the author's email so you can alert them when their review is up or ask any questions. If you want to inquire about an interview or giveaway or anything else, use the contact info that came with the book first. If nothing came, then reply to the original offer message and ask that they forward the email on.

Hello, passing thru right now, but thought I would let you all know that I've been reviewing books from this company for well over a year. I believe it is reputable and they have handled the few issues I've had, when I've gone back to them.

Reviews are requested from anybody that hires the company, so you can get books directly from the author or the publisher or a publicist...I've had them all. The quality of the books is, of course, usually based upon the specific client. Some self-published books have errors, as is often the case. You must have your own policy to deal with whether you will review them or not, of course.

The company is merely a mail/communicator. They do not know anything about the books themselves...so be prepared to ensure you have something from the sender when you receive it or you'll never know where to send your review! I prefer it that way, since I normally deal directly with my clients anyway.

The volume of offers is based upon the customers going to the company so you have no way to plan for what and when you get them. They have all genres, childrens, youth, and nonfiction so I just pick and choose what I'm interested in. If not interested...just delete!

Sometimes, but not very often, books I've registered to review never come. I've never followed up since I figure it is the customers loss, not mine...LOL

By the way, I have no idea whether they prequalify you by going to your blog. I received my first email via their going to our main book review site.

Best,
Glenda

I did the same, I didn't email them my preferences. So far I've discovered quite a few books I was interested in...haven't received any as of yet though. Perhaps they don't ship to Canada? not sure.

I didn't give them a preference, because I figured that I could just sift throught the emails, and I might even be interested in something that I normally wouldn't read. So far I've been right.
