How to Get Books from Bostick Communications + Reviewing for Bostick 101

A lof of book bloggers just started receiving emails from Bostick automatically with offers of books for review. However you can get on their list yourself by going to their website: http://www.bostickcommunications.com/ and contacting them. Just explain that you are a book blogger and provide your url and mention that you'd like to be included in their mailing list.

You may or may not receive a message back saying you're on the list. You probably won't know until you start receiving emails. All you have to do to ask for a review copy of a book is reply to the email with your mailing address (and I always include my blog url). I usually add a short sentence like: "I would love to review this book." I don't know if this is necessary. You will NOT get a reply. You may or may not receive the book.

Please note that although it looks like the offers are from the book authors, they are all from the same email address as Bostick.. So save any papers that come with your book if they have the author's email so you can alert them when their review is up or ask any questions. If you want to inquire about an interview or giveaway or anything else, use the contact info that came with the book first. If nothing came, then reply to the original offer message and ask that they forward the email on.

I emailed Bostick with my genre preferences, they confirmed they updated my account and I haven't gotten a single email since. Wonder if I was accidentally deleted?

@Sheila

That's good to know! thanks! I've been sending back emails in the hopes that they'll ship to Canada. Still nothing in my mailbox. I'll just sit and wait it's not like I'm going to run out of books or anything.

Thank you for letting us know Sheila!

I just recieved my second book through Bostick, Across the Pond by Storyheart. I'm actually setting up an interview with the author for my blog, and the author wants to do an interview from me for theirs! How cool is that? As soon as it's all posted up I will be sure to let everyone know about it :)

I too sometimes receive books quickly from them, sometimes not at all. So - I emailed them today to ask if when we sign up, if that is just a request or does that mean we will get the book. They emailed back:

Thank you for your question and interest.

When you request a review copy we forward that
request to the author.

We rely on the authors to honor the requests we forward to them.
We continue to stress to our author clients the importance of
promptly responding to reviewer requests.

Due to your activity you are listed as a priority reviewer,
which increases your chances of receiving review
copies. It does take up to three to four weeks for some
authors to send books out to reviewers.

Thank you for your patience and understanding and we
appreciate all that you do for these authors.

Regards,
Ken Eason

I thought this was good to know and wanted to pass it on to you! :)

I finally just recieved my first book through Bostick. It was one I just requested last week, so I'm guessing they aren't sending the others? lol...I don't know, oh well. I may email them about a few of them because they looked really good.
