Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!

I, too, would much appreciate a refresher course on the basics.  And please, folks, let us know the etiquette as well.  As in, who qualifies as a blog tourist, host, or hopper, and what - exactly - is expected of them?

Cheers,

Kris

Hi guys!

I'm no expert but I'm having my own blog tour as we speak and looking for hosts and hostee's. A blog tour is where you take a person and put their information up on your blog. Information like author interviews, character interviews, book/swag giveaways or any creative ideas you might have. I usually ask the person for my list of questions, a copy of their book cover and an author pic and then just post it on my blog. I set up a whole new blog, just for this purpose as I've had great response in wanting to be on my blog. There is no qualifying, anyone can be on the blog (author/blogger/etc). As far as the hostee, you just sign up, get the information requested of you back in a timely manner. Most times, hostee's offer to put their hosts on THEIR blogs as well out of courtesy. After your post goes up, you need to tweet and self promote your butt off letting people know that you're up and where you are so it drives traffic to the website which is good for both you and the hosts.

Hope this helps. Like I said, I'm no expert, I just know what I'm doing. If you want to get your feet wet, let me know and I'd love to host you A.L. and Kristen Elise. Please let me know if you are interested asap and good luck to both of you!

Keep Writing!

Thanks Jodie, I emailed a question and I'm also following you now.  Thanks for the follow!

Hi Jodie,

Thanks for the tips.  I'm following you back now as well.  My blog is focused strictly on suspense/thriller material.  If you think your books fit into this category, or if there's an aspect you'd like to highlight that does, I'd be happy to host you on your blog tour and link your sites to mine as well.  Please let me know.  Cheers,

Kris

I had no clue either! Thanks for enlightening me Jodi. Here is information about my murder mystery set in India in case anyone wants to host. I would be glad  to host someone who writes in my genre. Maybe I will get more followers this way!!
