Here is what we are planning to happen at Octour so far. If you have any other ideas we would love to hear them!

1) An exclusive version of all our titles eBooks will be sold and made available for giveaways for all participants. These eBooks will have unique touches added to them by the author.

2) Exclusive interviews on each blog that participates

3) A big giveaway at the end. Each blog (that wants to) gives away something at the end of the tour on October 31st. The catch is though in order to get the giveaway the follower of the tour has to get through a maze we will build. As you work through the maze you will be taken to areas that feature your blog. You blog will have one clue to help them get through the maze.

4) Live chat for those that wish to host a live chat. If you do not have the capabilities we can send you a chat box widget.

If you have any other ideas that you think would be really unique and get your readers to participate let us know!

Hi - The author of the book I'd like to read is Robin Muller and the book is 13 Ghosts of Halloween for ages 6+, 32 pages

Here is a quick description of the book:
In this Halloween version of The Twelve Days of Christmas, ten children two dogs and a cat enter the haunted fun house. They have tons of fun!

Just let me know what I need to do on my end for a book tour. I've never done one. I'd love to interview the author if possible. Let me know if I should ask Kane Miller to track her down or if I need to do anything else. Thanks.

I'd also like to read one of your books (Reads Like Murder In Honolulu) if that's OK, I'll just review it and do the giveaway on GivingNSharing my product review blog.

Hi everyone and thank-you for being a part of Octour. We are getting ready to start making the schedule for the event but we need a little information from you first.

First would you like to have a live chat with an author or would you rather just do an interview via a pre-written blog post with your questions. If you would like to do a live chat, what dates during the 19-30 are you available?

Next what would you like to giveaway at the end of the tour on the 31st? On the 31st the finale for our maze will be a giveaway. Whoever makes it to the end will enter their name into the drawing and a winner will be picked.

Next what author(s) would you like to have on your blog? If you don't have a preference we will assign an author that we feel fits your blog best.

If you could answer those questions by going to the Octour group and posting your answers in the "What We Are Planning to Happen at Octour" discussion.

Lastly there is some confusion as to what a blog tour is. If you are new to blog tours here is basically what happens. An author comes to your blog where you interview them and or review their book. Normally the book is also linked to so your readers can buy it. Also giveaways of one or two ebook copies of the book are there for you to giveaway with your own rules. The interview can be conducted in two different ways, live or pre-written. If pre-written you send us your list of questions and we will forward that to the author and they will answer the questions and we send it back to you. On a predetermined date and time your post appears (best way is to schedule your post so you don't have to worry about it). You also email your followers (more info on that coming soon) so they come to your blog to be a part of the interview (we are going to possible have something cool for your guests and you to play with on your blog) If you do a live chat, again at a predetermined time the author comes on your blog and you carry the interview live!

We are also going to send you a clue that your followers can use to get through the maze.

That is a blog tour in its basics. Once we have the schedule made we will be able to give you the full details and plans for the Octour event and we can then begin promotions.
