Branding: having your blog hosted by someone else will dilute your personal brand and lessen its power
Credibility: people take you more seriously when you have your own domain – it’s more professional. A Blogspot or WordPress.com address advertises someone else’s services and can make you look like an amateur.
Control: self-hosted blogs let you have total control over layout, content and functionality, unlike blogs hosted by third parties
Find-ability: domain name and domain suffix can affect your ranking in Search Engines
Familiarity: some users are confused by Blogspot or WordPress.com addresses because they don’t follow the convention of having “www” in front of them
Moving Your Blog: How to transfer your blog to your own personal domain name and server from Blogger/Blogspot or WordPress.com
Inside, you’ll find detailed instructions on how to go from a blog hosted on a sub-domain on someone else’s service, to owning your own domain name and having complete control of your own server.
For those who are happy with their existing blog, but just want a domain name of their own, I explain how you can keep using your existing blog, but point at it with a domain name.
The Headmaster's Wager by Vincent Lam of Toronto, an historical novel set in Vietnam during the war. Review.
I'm organizing a blog tour for Lisa de Nikolits book West of Wawa, novel about a 29 year old woman who "runs away from home" and takes a bus trip on the transcanadian highway. Would love to have a Canadian blogger read and review, post an author guest post or interview Lisa! some giveaways may also be available. Contact me at jodi@wow-womenonwriting.com
Some books come into your life that absolutely and utterly destroy every mediocre thought ever established in your mind. They’re rare, but they do appear from time to time in your life. The Magic Of Thinking Big was one of those books that impacted me in a BIG way.
So for that reason I would like to share some of that experience with you by giving away a copy of one of my favorite motivational books – The Magic Of Thinking Big .
Time and again, throughout the years, I have returned to this masterpiece to unlock its secrets. In fact, I have loved this book so much that I’ve worn out my original copy.
So I’d like to offer you a chance to win a brand new copy.

After having read "MISTIK LAKE" (By: Martha Brooks" I now understand why it shocked the pants off a Grade 8 teacher who had wanted to use the book as a Literacy Circle Book. Although I personally enjoyed the novel, it did deal with some pretty heavy themes.

Martha Brooks is a wonderful Canadian author.
New Review Of: "THE CIRCUS AT THE EDGE OF THE EARTH"
By: Charles Wilkins
This book reminded me so much of "Water for Elephants" and "The Final Confessions of Mable Stark". This is the story of author Charles Wilkins who spends an entire spring travelling with the Great Wallenda Circus. The description and detail make you feel as though you are sitting there under the Big Top!

Enjoy!
