Branding: having your blog hosted by someone else will dilute your personal brand and lessen its power
Credibility: people take you more seriously when you have your own domain – it’s more professional. A Blogspot or WordPress.com address advertises someone else’s services and can make you look like an amateur.
Control: self-hosted blogs let you have total control over layout, content and functionality, unlike blogs hosted by third parties
Find-ability: domain name and domain suffix can affect your ranking in Search Engines
Familiarity: some users are confused by Blogspot or WordPress.com addresses because they don’t follow the convention of having “www” in front of them

This book takes place in Toronto, Ontario and Winnipeg, Manitoba

 

After having read "MISTIK LAKE" (By: Martha Brooks" I now understand why it shocked the pants off a Grade 8 teacher who had wanted to use the book as a Literacy Circle Book. Although I personally enjoyed the novel, it did deal with some pretty heavy themes.

New Review Of: "THE CIRCUS AT THE EDGE OF THE EARTH"

This book reminded me so much of "Water for Elephants" and "The Final Confessions of Mable Stark". This is the story of author Charles Wilkins who spends an entire spring travelling with the Great Wallenda Circus. The description and detail make you feel as though you are sitting there under the Big Top!
