Our Book Review of Catching Cassidy by Melissa Foster (Harborside Nights Book #1) 'You will feel a rollercoaster of emotions as you feel that your right there, in the moment of this emotional and passionate romance'.......

"After reading so many great reviews of Catching Cassidy I couldn't resist the urge to read it myself and I am so glad I did or I would have missed out on such a moving and totally enjoyable story.

The main characters, Wyatt, his sister Delilah and their best friend Cassidy, have all known each other since childhood, now left college they are ready for the next step in their lives and careers. They have such a warmth and beautiful bond of friendship between them that it's so easy to fall in love with them.

Sadly instead of enjoying this time, Wyatt and Delilah's parents suddenly die in a car crash leaving the devastated brother and sister to pick up the pieces and take the reigns of their parents bar in Harborside, with no experience and the overwhelming grief to live with. Just before this happens Cassidy escapes the cheating arms of her boyfriend with the help of her two best friends and they had decided to spend the summer together, although now with heavy hearts in Harborisde.

As we arrive in beautiful setting of Harborisde with the trio of friends, you immediately feel the trendy, caring, laid back vibe of this close knit beach community and are introduced to their amazing friends. It was great to be in their company as they rally round to help Wyatt and Cassidy.

I was particularly drawn to Wyatt's character, although I loved Cassidy, what Wyatt was going through and how he felt he had to carry all the burden on his shoulders, while putting his own needs and grief under the carpet, was extremely touching. His grief made me want to reach out to him and tell him everything would be alright. The author, I feel, did an amazing job of incorporating the sensitive stages of grief within the story and all the emotions felt, it certainly sparked reminders of my own past loss while reading it.

Such a loss can shake your world and for partying Wyatt, it becomes clear what is important to him and what really matters in life. Realizing after all these years of caring and protecting Cassidy the reason is he simply loves her more than anything else in the world. Cassidy secretly has the same feelings for Wyatt but the with heavy hearts and vulnerability these childhood friends struggle to come to terms with how they now feel, not wanting to act on these feelings or let each other know and ruin their special bond of friendship by the unknown of a relationship. For others the undeniable love and passion between them is obvious, it's just a matter of time. At one point I almost had to have a word in Wyatt's ear myself but his actions stopped me.

I was literally turning the pages almost faster than I could read them, as the explosion of true passion and feelings took over. You will feel a rollercoaster of emotions as you feel that your right there, in the moment of this emotional and passionate romance. A wonderful end to a wonderful story and as I was teased to a glimpse of Book 2, Discovering Delilah, I am now craving more."

Just released!!
New #romance Healed by Love from Melissa Foster 'both of them had lost someone they both loved, tremendously, giving this book a depth that I've not read in a book in a long time' reviews Cali Book Reviews.......

"Another Melissa Foster Series with those amazingly sexy Braden's!! We get to meet the COlorado Braden's cousins in Peaceful Harbor, MD! They sound every bit as good looking & sexy!

This book is centered around Jewel and Nate. Nate grew up knowing Jewel's family, because he was best friends with Jewel's older brother, Rick. Rick and Nate entered the military together, and were overseas together. Unfortunately Rick didn't make it home.

Nate and Jewel had been hiding their feelings for one another for so long and I think that the fact that they had both lost someone they both loved, tremendously, gives this book a depth that I've not read in a book in a long time.

When reading a book, I can normally tell what's going to happen, where the relationships are heading, etc. In this one, while I was correct with my assumption from the beginning, there were parts that really made me think about it & wonder, "Wow, was I wrong?"

I like how Jewel is able to self analyze herself, make herself better, and get a better relationship with her family & Nate in the process!

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a good book! It was honestly an awesome book, and I didn't want to put it down. I normally am like this with Melissa Foster books, but this one, I read in a span of 12 hours! It was a fantastic book!"

Victoria Wilder was the perfect wife. At least she tried to be. She had enough books and magazines to tell her how to be one, and all that reading had to pay off eventually. She is a devoted mother to her son, Derek and a loving wife to her husband, Philip. Even though her orderly family life was virtually perfect to all who saw her, it was also passionless.

Mark Beck was an ex-navy pilot, and liked to live life on the edge. A man with many women in his life, he moved next door to Victoria’s family. He is instantly drawn to Victoria, and she to him, and they try to fight the attraction.

Eventually, the forbidden passion between them will turn Victoria’s cloistered and controlled world upside down.

Here's an interesting interview with longtime writer Janet Chester Bly who has written numerous books both alone and with her husband. Their writing runs the gamut from Christian devotions to Western Romance and self-help books. They've long been in the spotlight as writers and speakers. Now writing on her own after the recent death of her husband, she's still inspiring and helping others in their craft and giving readers some delightful books to review. Here's the link:

New Love, First Love is a reissue of my first book.  If you love a contemporary romance with family, friendship and humor, this novel is for you.

John Stanton has lost the love of his life to cancer. Even though he has tried to move on with his life and has remarried, he still longs for his first wife, Jenny. His marriage to Darlene lacks true love, and John longs for contentment in his life. A chance meeting with a stunning waitress named Wendy Burke changes his outlook. He is instantly drawn to her, and this attraction leads to a chain of events that transforms his life. John’s naive daughter, Maggie is curious about love. When she sees Wendy's handsome devil-may-care cousin Michael for the first time, she instantly falls in love with him. She is determined to have him. Michael has had many women in his past, but has resisted true love at every turn. He knows that he should resist Maggie, and tries to forget about her. But forgetting the beautiful Maggie Stanton would turn out to be the hardest thing he had ever done.
