Thanks Anna. Just saw the invite. It's my busy time with the garden coming in.

All of these books look good. Anna, thanks for the invitation. I've read Victor McGlothin's Newberry. Love it to pieces. Would love to get my hand on these other books.

Hi Outnumbered Mama. These books are actually the older titles, so promotion is actually done with them, but it would be neat to bring up backlist every once in a while for discussion. I put these up as a kind of overview of what Urban Lit is like. The Secrets of Newberry is Urban Lit in a historical setting, Married on Mondays covers issues of sex and marriage, Alibi is very street, and God Only Knows is somewhat Christian. It's not the only classifications of Urban Lit we have, but I guess this is the broadest scope.

Thanks for the invite Anna. I've read a couple of books in this genre. It seems there are varying degrees if that makes sense.

There have been so many interesting discussions on the pros and cons of urban lit and its effect on readers, so I am really looking forward to seeing what comes from this group!

Thanks very much, Mary! Made that icon myself. :D Well... I cropped a pretty image and added the text, but that qualifies as making it, yes? I think?
