Lots and lots of author events going on in October.
Just wanted to remind everybody that there are a lot of events going on during October.
At the Kings English this month, there is Sara Zarr, James Dashner, Kaleb Nation, Sherman Alexie and Richard Russo. Check out their website for details. I'm planning on attending all of them.
Feel free to mention any others.
Sara's signing is THIS Thursday at 7pm. There is a blogger from FL who is in town for a conference and we will be going out to dinner before the signing. This is an open invitation to anybody who wants to join us for dinner. Likely meeting between 5:30 - 5:45. Restaurant yet to be determined. Likely The Bombay House. Let me know if interested!

I've got a few I know about. They are the Deseret Book Events in Oct. Coming up on the 1st is William Slaughter at the SLC Downtown location. On the 2nd William Slaughter will be at the Layton Hills Mall location and Richard Paul Evans at the SLC Downtown. On the 3rd is ladies night at the Layton Hills Mall location. My favorite LDS author Jennie Hansen will be there along with Josi Kilpack, Cherie Call, and Linda Garner. I think I will be at the Ladies Night Celebration on the 3rd. Here is more detailed info on the Deseret Book site.
The Tenth Annual Utah Humanities Book Festival is Oct 20-28 with the main stuff at the SLC Library on the 23, 24th. I haven't had a chance to look over the schedule. You can find more info HERE or by searching for the Utah Humanities. I know Shannon Hale will be presenting because my daughter has already arranged with her publicist for a brief video interview.
Natasha, I would dearly love to meet you for dinner Thursday, but I doubt I'll be able to make it to 'the city' that day. *SOB* Who's coming from Florida?
..
I totally forgot about this event! Why oh why does it have to be the Sat before Halloween? I remember that it was the same last year. I already have like a billion Halloween things for the kids that day. *sob* *sob*
Thanks for posting this! I'm so there for Sherman Alexie on the 14th! I've been a huge fan of his work for a long time. His courage in tackling native issues in his novels has always drawn me to his work.
I just went out and ordered his book on Amazon, and I'll have to check the others out as well! I'm sad I missed Sara Zarr!
