Children's Literature Book Club

Cari and I both go to a Children's Literature Book Club which is coordinated by Stephanie at the Children's Literature Book Club (whom I still need to get her to join this group). We have been enjoying it a lot. Last month we read Cybils books, prior to that Christmas picture books. This next month we are reading the Newbery and Caldacott books that were just announced. I'm sure Stephenie would be happy to have a couple more join us if anybody is interested (I hope she doesn't mind me inviting everybody - the first time I went I invited myself when I found her blog). I just wanted to let you guys know about it. I've enjoyed it a lot!

I'll email you her email address so you can contact her and you can be put on her list. Like I said, I found her website and literally just invited myself and then invited Cari. It's so much fun to talk with people who read so many children's books.

We meet the third Wednesday's of the month all over the valley. So far twice in Sugarhouse area, once in West Jordan, the next meeting is in Herriman.

We are doing winners plus honors but not all of them (simply because that's a lot of books). I've already read most of them so I'm going to read all the ones I haven't yet

hmm. i'm really going to have to consider this. i'm not sure i have time for another book club - but i do love children's lit and it'd be fun to meet with other utah book bloggers.

As usual I am about 2 weeks behind on everything. I have enjoyed going, it's a fun group and I have a passion for kidlit so it works really well for me.

I just wanted to clarify (one of the things I was thinking about while laying in bed at night) is that this is not *my* book group. It's very much Stephanies and as such in charge of how many people she lets in, etc. I don't want to make it sound like I have any control over it. Stephanie was so kind to have Cari and I go, that I wanted to let everybody else know how much fun we were having and to let you know the opportunity was available.
