Thanks for the recommendation, Greg! And I'll try not to hold it against you--after all, I'm a transplant to Wisconsin...

I lived in Wisconsin for more than 10 years (proud Marquette alum), but now, I am ashamed to admit, I'm a Flatlander. Please don't hold it against me. :)

A good Wisconsin author - and also a creative writing professor at MU - is CJ Hribal. His latest book, titled The Company Car, was published in 2006. Check it out!

I'm almost done with Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and will be starting The Financial Lives of Poets by Jess Walter later today.

Hi Jamie! I've never heard of him, either. I'll add him to the list.

Right now I'm reading Nibble & Kuhn by David Schmahmann, and The Tudor Rose by Margaret Campbell Barnes. What are you reading?

Hi Tracee! Appleton's not too far away from me!

Good morning (for a few minutes anyway)! I'm new to the group and the board as a whole. Michael Perry is another really good Wisconsin author....I particularly liked his latest book...Coop. What's everyone reading now?

Hi everyone,

My name is Tracee and I am originally from Manitowoc but now live just outside of Appleton. I hope to get to know more about you all!

Wow, Jo-Jo. That's far up there... =)

Sharon, welcome to WI. I'm a transplant too--came all the way from Malaysia. Don't ask why... I wonder that myself every winter!

Good Morning: I am a Wisconsin tranplant. I'm originally from NJ, but now live in Two Rivers. It's nice to meet other Wisconsinites.

Hi Drey! Ashland is in Northern Wisconsin along the shore of Lake Superior. Have you heard of Chequamegon Bay? Bayfield is about a half hour north of us and that is a pretty popular little town, known for it's eccentricities. They also have a huge Apple Festival in October that draws a big crowd.
