Share 'what KIND of writing do I REALLY want to do?'

Looking for some PENETRATING questions to help me decide if I REALLY want to get back into writing, and if so, what kind.   I DO need to bring in a moderate cash flow.  But the CENTRAL question is: what MODE of writing: Fiction?
