Pavarti K Tyler said… It is a Pen Name that I have been using since 1998. It's a very real part of my identity but is not a part of my genetic ancestry :) I have studied Hinduism extensively and am especially fond of Hanuman and Parvati. When picking this name it was in homage to Parvati. In my work I feel more like Pav than my given name, I have to wonder, what makes an identity, the one we are given by our parents before they know us or the one we choose for ourselves.
I'm excited to have met someone who actually recognizes the entomology of my name, most people here in the US just think it's strange :) My first novel is a Middle Eastern Batman epic and I hope to release it in November.
I look forward to getting to know you better and having many interesting conversations.
