A TOWN LIKE ALICE by Nevil Shute (this month)
About Me:
I am a writer and tour guide from Charleston, SC. I write narrative non-fiction and conduct walking tours on the streets of "America's Most Historic City." My wife, Rebel Sinclair, is a romance novelist and tour guide.

Together we operate Black Cat Tours (BlackCatTours.com), a walking tour company that focuses on the other side of history. We offer a ghost tour and several ADULTS ONLY tours which discusses the dark side of history - murders, prostitution, transvestites, Civil War-era homosexuality. All the fun stuff!

I have written four books about South Carolina and Charleston history:
WICKED CHARLESTON: THE DARK SIDE OF THE HOLY CITY
WICKED CHARLESTON, VOL.II: PROSTITUTES, POLITICS & PROHIBITION
PALMETTO PREDATORS: MONSTERS AMONG US
SOUTH CAROLINA KILLERS: CRIMES OF PASSION

My two current projects are titles TARHEEL TERROR (murder stories in North Carolina) and DOIN' THE CHARLESTON ( a social history about the impact the famous 1920s dance has had on American culture.

When I'm not researching, or writing a new manuscript, I spend time with my wife, Rebel Sinclair, or I'm reading, reading, reading ....

Stephanie Meyer is either a genius, naive, or perverted. I'm not sure which. What an… Continue

BEST AND WORST OF 2009

BEST NOVELS OF 2009

Unlike many other lists (like The New York Times and other snobbish, elite publications), the books listed here are actually enjoyable. I have listed them in alphabetical order.

DEVIL'S GARDEN by Ace Atkins

Wow, what a book. The 1921 rape/manslaughter trial of silent film star Roscoe Fatty Arbuckle provides the gritty backdrop for this… Continue
