"The Bridge of Deaths" by M.C.V. Egan was recommended to me by several of my reviewer friends who just earned themselves more credibility. This well written and compelling story is based on a true event, the crash of a British Airways Plane at a Danish bridge in 1939.
A couple in Britain and a woman in Florida are trying to reconstruct the events and the lives of the people who were killed through various channels of research; some of it factual, some psychic.
It is fascinating how the story unfolds, like a regular detective story, but the use of transgression to past lives and the use of information derived from psychics adds a special touch to it.
Whether you - like myself - are open to the concept of transgression or not, the result is the same: a carefully composed and thrilling read that combines historical facts with suspense and entertainment.

I was honestly slightly confused as I started this book as to whether it was fiction or non-fiction. Once I realized it was both I was pleasantly intrigued. What a clever concept. The authors' grandfather did not survive a plane crash in 1939 in Denmark. He was a very young man only in his 30's. The crash occurred the night before the start of WWII. Six people were on that plane. There were two Standard Oil employees from New Jersey, A German lawyer, a member, of Parliament, an airline employee and the pilot. The pilot was the only survivor. Active imaginations like mine, or any conspiracy theorists could easily peg any one of those passengers as an espionage pawn. I am in awe of the authors twenty -year- quest to unravel the mystery surrounding her grandfathers' death. Was it an accident or was it an act of espionage? Her research left not one stone unturned on any continent or in the world of afterlife. The world of past life regression is fascinating. Bill, one of the main characters does not smoke but after being hypnotized, he becomes a smoker because he was a smoker in his past life. I found this interesting because I quit smoking three years ago but still smoke in my dreams. Her passion for this project is evident on every page and in her detailed footnotes. Personally, I love history and every detail was impeccable but at the same time, I found the footnotes a bit distracting. I would have preferred them at the end of the book or in the center for easy reference. All I will say about the ending is Bravo. This book has everything, fiction, non-fiction, mystery; romance, past lives, psychics and history. As overwhelming as that sounds and it should be, the author does a brilliant job of tying it together rather nicely. If you are looking for something different, maybe burnt out on vampires give this book a try I think you will enjoy its uniqueness.
