I just discovered that someone lifted my interview verbatim - including the title - and put it on their blog to help promote promote the author on another site. This was done without any note that it came from my blog, that I had written the interview, or even a link back to my blog. Profile Information

Favorite Book: Epicenter

About Me:: I am an avid reader and have always been. My picture shows just a few of my favorite books. They range from mysteries, political thrillers, science fiction (but only the classics like Asimov, Heinlein or Clarke),and "at home" books (Jan Karon or Debbie Macomber) that make you feel you are a part of the local community. I also love fiction and "faction" books on Ireland - which is one of my favorite places to visit. I would love to live there for months at a time!

I am not a keeper of books. I read and recycle. I give my books to my local library book store so they can sell them again to others. I'm usually picking up something "new" there as often as I am in the other parts of the library. I can get lost in a library or a bookstore for hours. I do, however, keep my travel books as they remind of the wonderful places I've had the opportunity to visit.

I currently read lots of children's picture books as you will note in my list of reviews. I like to see what is currently selling and how my stories can fit into the mix as I write children's books. I also read many books on writing to improve my craft.

My three favorite children's books are:
The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. My favorite quote from this book is "One sees clearly only with the heart. Anything essential is invisible to the eyes."

A Child's Garden of Verses by Robert Louis Stevenson. I love this book of poems as it was a book my mother read to me as did her mother. One of the great verses from that book is "When at home alone I sit and am very tired of it, I have just to shut my eyes to go sailing through the skies. To go sailing far away to the pleasant Land of Play." What a wonderful way to think about daydreaming to another time and place!

Oh, the Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss. I can't pick a single quote from this book as I love the whole concept of the book. I think this book should be given to every high school and college graduate. Seuss describes the paths you'll take as you are out on your own. Some will be good, bad, or even scary but you still need to march forth and make your mark. The last words in the book are "Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So ...get on your way!
