How would you react if someone lifted your interview?

I just discovered that someone lifted my interview verbatim - including the title - and put it on their blog to help promote promote the author on another site. This was done without any note that it came from my blog, that I had written the interview, or even a link back to my blog. It was up there just looking like they had done it.I'd love to know how others would react.See More

As I don't see this as a discussion topic, I thought I would add it here. I'll start with one of my own!Doing an eBook giveaway on my blog this week for Milly and the Chittens. This is a chapter book aimed at 7-10 year olds that deals with a young girl, whose room is so messy that it becomes a hatching-ground for mysterious garbage-eating creatures. Come read the interview with the author, Julie Scott, and leave a comment. You could end up winning a book! Read about the details at…See More

About Me:
I am an avid reader and have always been. My picture shows just a few of my favorite books. They range from mysteries, political thrillers, science fiction (but only the classics like Asimov, Heinlein or Clarke),and "at home" books (Jan Karon or Debbie Macomber) that make you feel you are a part of the local community. I also love fiction and "faction" books on Ireland - which is one of my favorite places to visit. I would love to live there for months at a time!

I am not a keeper of books. I read and recycle. I give my books to my local library book store so they can sell them again to others. I'm usually picking up something "new" there as often as I am in the other parts of the library. I can get lost in a library or a bookstore for hours. I do, however, keep my travel books as they remind of the wonderful places I've had the opportunity to visit.

I currently read lots of children's picture books as you will note in my list of reviews. I like to see what is currently selling and how my stories can fit into the mix as I write children's books. I also read many books on writing to improve my craft.

My three favorite children's books are:
The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. My favorite quote from this book is "One sees clearly only with the heart. Anything essential is invisible to the eyes."

A Child's Garden of Verses by Robert Louis Stevenson. I love this book of poems as it was a book my mother read to me as did her mother. One of the great verses from that book is "When at home alone I sit and am very tired of it, I have just to shut my eyes to go sailing through the skies. To go sailing far away to the pleasant Land of Play." What a wonderful way to think about daydreaming to another time and place!

Oh, the Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss. I can't pick a single quote from this book as I love the whole concept of the book. I think this book should be given to every high school and college graduate. Seuss describes the paths you'll take as you are out on your own. Some will be good, bad, or even scary but you still need to march forth and make your mark. The last words in the book are "Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So ...get on your way!

I am blogging about my experiences in writing and interviewing other writers as to their successes and tips. You can read about it at

Heinlein is still a master no matter what the timeframe. A Heinlein Trio by Robert Heinlein

I picked up this book from a library book fair, it had been awhile since I had read a Heinlein and I wanted to read some classic sci-fi from one of the masters. It’s three of his stories.

The Puppet Masters – The story of an alien attack on our world where the aliens act as parasites on humans taking over their thought processes and actions. They…

Easter Reads for Kids: Last One in Is A Rotten Egg! by Diane De Groat

Each time I read one of these “Gilbert and friends” books, I’m always amazed how a children’s writer can give such a lovable characterization to an opossum – one of the least friendly looking creatures. In this book, once again Gilbert is showing his friends what it means to be a true friend. As the book deals with the traditional yearly Easter egg hunt, the…

Hi Chris,

I just found what looks like a friendship request.  I don't come to the site everyday though I see i'ts active and I joined about a week ago.  Happy to friend you.  Not clear yet how to do that so this is a response so you know I'm not ignoring you.  Facebook provides a space to say yes to requrests, but i don't see it on this site. Sof if you could give me a clue, I'd be happ to say yes.

Hi Chris.  I noticed you are a writer.  I've started a group called Writers of Mass Distraction.  We have just 13 members.  I want to keep the group small so we can get to know each other and help each other with our works and promoting.  Please take a look and see if it's something you'd like.
