The Moment by Douglas Kennedy

I've just finished reading The Moment by Douglas Kennedy.  Such a brilliant novel, couldn't wait to read the end and now am in a state of mourning as I've finished it.  About an American Writer who travels to Berlin in the 1980s before the Wall came down.  He falls in love with a woman from the Eastern block.  A tragic story of loss and love. I remember Germany when it was divided into East and West.  I went to West Germany often to visit my Aunt and Uncle.  Once we travelled to Belson - took…See More

My first novel: Caught in the Web

I've just published my first novel Caught in the Web on Kindle and am so pleased that it's selling.  After working on the novel for nearly two years - achieving an MA in Creative Writing during the process, I struggled to find an agent interested in taking it on.  Now I know it's out there and people are reading it!  Just got my first book review:I was completely unprepared for the way that this book drew me in and involved me in the lives of the characters. I felt the hopelessness of those…See More

Hello and welcome!  It's hard to believe, but I've been on here almost a year, but when I first started I found it immensely comforting and helpful to get a few hellos, so thought I'd share a few.  :)  There's a lot going on around here - some of it confusing, some daunting, but mostly all helpful.  If I can ever help, let me know!

Also, if you have a second, check out my blog (shameless self-promo plug here, sorry, but that's what we authors do right?!) - www.Jill-Elizabeth.com.  I usually have a giveaway or two, book reviews, interviews, thoughts on reading/writing, and occasionally even a few of my own scribbles.  Hope to see you - and am happy to check out your site if you send a link!

Good luck -

jill

Hi! Welcome to Book Blogs—if you are in the oftentimes horrific proposal / query letter process and are hunting for that elusive agent OR… if you have decided to go the ebook way…then join me at The Agent Challenge. After all, the proposal process isn’t just for agents. A proposal is your marketing strategy! Also, I’m giving away the 2012 big book of agents or a book from one of our mentors. Drawing from followers at the end of February!

You're welcome, Christine :) This place can be a wonderful resource to get the word out about your writing. If you have a blog, or are considering starting one, you'll be able to post links here to get followers. I'm an author, who blogs on the side, and I've used this site to get attention for my novel and find reviewers for it, I've connected with other authors and publishers looking for reviews for their material. When I review something, I post a link to my blog to drive traffic to it. Another good site to check out is Goodreads. It's an online book club. Most of the authors on here belong to Goodreads as well. I hope this info helps!
