My house was full of books before I started reviewing. Now that I am receiving more and more books, I am in trouble! Piles of books everywhere! I can't be the only with this 'problem'. I have thought…Continue

My blog is fairly new and, I have to admit, before I found this site I had never heard of giveaways. Now I am tossing around the idea of doing one for Easter. What do you think. Is it something I…Continue

Hello Dana,

He is considered the most innovative of the Brazilian modernists. Besides having been a precursor of the Tropicália movement and of the "marginal poetry" of the 70s, de Andrade wrote three major manifestos: the Pau-Brasil Poetry Manifesto (1924), Pau Brasil (1925) and the Anthropophagic Manifesto (1928). He also introduced Brazilian literature to experimental prose with Memórias Sentimentais de João Miramar (1924).Visit me plase. Thanks! Have a nice day!

Thanks for your welcome, Dana! As you said, "life is always an adventure"... I don't know if I'm ambitious, but for sure my life is an adventure too.

I check out your blog and I read the nice poem of Gordon McRae... Do you review poetry? I wrote a little book (15 poems) whit a particular graphic layout and some illustrations (you can check out the book here): are you interested on it?

Many thanks in advance!

Nunoe

Slightly Dented Halos by L A Jackson

I am sure that L A Jackson and her family have earned their halos - and not the dented kind. It takes a special sort of angel to invite her aging in-laws to live with her. This short book covers the span of five years living with, and caring for, aging parents but it is not the sappy, self-promoting or self-pitying drivel you might expect.

Ms Jackson's writing style reminds me a lot of the late, great Erma Bombeck (am I dating myself with that statement??) There is no plot line to… Continue

Review of Lunenburg Letters by Bobbi Lou Gray

Before I begin my review of this self published novel, you need to be aware of a HUGE caveat: The author happens to be a good friend of mine. She is one of the sweetest and most courageous women I know. So, what follows is an honest, fair review ... with a (hopefully) barely noticeable sprinkling of bias.

Bobbi Gray has written a saga of two families, friends for generations, who decide to emigrate to Canada. Most of the book is written in the form of letters exchanged between two… Continue
