How fast can you read a book?

I'm asking this question because my husband thinks I'm some freak of nature.Yesterday I started the book Riding the Universe by Gaby Triana (267 pages) at about 4:30 in the afternoon and finished it by about 9:00 p.m. It was a good book!Anyway, I know there are faster readers out there and it just made me curious...Are you a slow reader or a fast reader...how long does it usually take you to read a book?I know that if I really like a book I read it fast but if I'm reading a book that is so-so…See More

With book lovers I would hope that caption would catch your attention! I'm a middle school librarian who has been writing reviews for about 3 years. I've always done them on paper for other librarians in our county (both public and school) but I have recently started a blog. Of course reviews are part of my life as a librarian but I now know they can also help me get books for my library! My budget for the library is only about 25% of what it normally is to buy books. I know, it's horrible! I'm…See More

Hi Darcy,

My book "Not Everyone Poops, Book One of the Henrietta James Series," was recently published and I would love to hear what you think about it. Would you be interested in writing a review?

It is an adult book with YA themes; growing up, high school, body changes, etc. but dealing with digestive disorders (IBS, Celiac, Lactose Intolerant) at the same time; all from a dark, satirical comedic aspect.

Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon!

Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”

Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."

Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"

Book Synopsis:

The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.

The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.

Hi Darcy,

Thanks for dropping by! Feel free to review my books and I appreciate the support! I also want to remind you that these are grown-up books and not YA, LOL! Now, Everlasting is about teens and teens love it but it's not of the YA genre. My books are mainly for mature audiences but feel free to review them. Contact me if you need to. My email is: stacydeanne1@aol.com

You can review Melody if you want since that's my latest and I've begun a series that's based on it as well.

Best Wishes!
