Locus Focus @ Shredded Cheddar

Every Saturday, I write a post about a setting I really connected with in my reading. It's a great way to write about books that "work" without actually turning out a review. Everyone is free to link up a post! =)

I usually dedicate one Saturday a month to a theme challenge. If you check the link, you'll see the schedule.

What Are They Waiting For?

+JMJ+ Since the main reason I blog is to find online friends to discuss books with, I'm always frustrated when I find an interesting blogger, leave lots of chatty comments on her blog, and then never see her show up on my own. And no, I don't mean one of the really busy ones who gets dozens of comments a week and can't realistically be expected to reply to all of them. It has happened several times, and every time it does, I wonder: What are they waiting for? An invitation? Not that it always…See More

Hi, Enbrethiliel. :)

I'm new to Book Blogs (less than a week), but I've already enjoyed reading so many of your thoughtful posts on the forums. Some great discussion has come out of them. I do agree with you that it's disheartening that more than a few bloggers seem to be in this for the follow count, and not the interaction. At any rate, I look forward to reading more of your thoughts as I settle in. :)

Hey!  I have an idea for a new feature that I'd like to include on my blog, and I was wondering if you'd help me get it started... I think you would find it interesting, since our looong (but fun) conversation about L'Engle is what inspired me to begin with.  It will be called something like "Duel"/Dual (?) Perspective and it will basically be both me and a guest book blogger sharing our thoughts on the same book, going back and forth.  I thought maybe you'd be interested in doing either An Acceptable Time or A Ring of Endless Light with me :-)  If you're interested, drop me a line at littlelaurenalise@gmail.com

Ah! The ME name generators! I remember those. I always ended up with something that was way too difficult for me to pronounce, so I'd go to the Hobbit name generator. ;) At 4"8 I'm more Hobbit then Elf anyway. Sans hairy toes, thank Ilúvatar. Or Eru.

I linked to you as well - Link page, not sidebar.
Hehe, the idea is just getting started. I love reading and cooking, but I crossing my fingers that I am able to do both without keeling over. ;) I have a ton of ideas though, so that is a good thing.

First of all, great name. My the level of my LOTR geekosity has gone down within the past few years, so I have no idea what your name means, but I do recognize the Tolkien-esque sound.
Second of all, I love your blog. I love how it isn't cluttered with a bunch of paranormal YA reviews (not that I have anything against paranormal YA. . . except that I've seen too much of it).
Third: I write J.M.J. on all my letters. So nice to see the acronym around and about the internet.

Pax!
