Hi Erica Thanks for the welcome and the visit

I'm new here - but hope to be a good friend as time goes on.

I'm an author from India with several books published on the Amazon platforms - a quick search for 'Deepak Menon" on amazon books throws up the list. I also have my own little website and do visit

All the best and cheerio

Deepak

You are a treasure trove of information. So much so that I'm setting up a file specific to you.

When you say, "Make sure local bookstores are carrying your book before you arrange talks and book signings," how do you manage that when it's still only available as an e book? Champagne won't put it into paper until after about 100 e book sales.

Erica,

I know the company does not do much promotion and I'll have to promote.

Thanks for your leads. I've done 3 interviews and have 2 in the wings. I also have 3 author sites. If you're inclined to feedback, they are http://about.me/joshuaalan and http://alanjoshua.com. No obligation.

Before writing the book, If I'd only known about agents, publishers, editing, and promotions I'm not sure I'd have put pen to paper.

Thanks again for you assist. I'll visit your site as well.

Hi Erica,

Thanks for the welcome, My mystery/thriller, sci-fi, The SHIVA Syndrome, is being published 11/3/14. by Champagne Books.

It smarts to see agents from Hurst who turned me down now looking for writers.

I'm a psychologist, now engaged in the awful activity of promoting. Along with other nice reviews, I have a star in the field of Parapsychology, the subject of the book.

Dr. Stanley Krippner, internationally known psychologist and parapsychologist.

After a Russian mind-research project opens a black hole in a Moscow suburb, researcher Beau Walker is coerced into joining the ensuing investigation. He soon realizes that anomalies worldwide–including the loss of an American space shuttle and a bizarre personal experience–coincided with the Podol’sk singularity. As events escalate, Walker embarks on an epic journey to come to terms with his personal demons, even as he struggles to save humanity from itself.

In The SHIVA Syndrome, the author (a clinical psychologist) skillfully and ingeniously interweaves altered states of consciousness and parapsychology with genetics, paleontology, mythology, and religion to produce a frightening, brisk, and film-worthy story building to an intense climax. The story challenges conventional notions of reality, ultimately concluding that human consciousness extends well beyond the flesh–and offers enormous potential for both creation and destruction.

Stanley Krippner, Ph.D., co-author Personal Mythology, co-editor Varieties of Anomalous Experience: Examining the Scientific Evidence, Second Edition (August 2013).

If you have any resources that could help make sense out of the chaos of promoting, please let me know.

Thanks.
