Are Tough on Crime Political Platforms stealing our Children's education?

More than 6.5 million Americans are in prison or have served time there. That's 1-100 adults living in the U.S., the highest incarceration level in the world, according to a new report by the Justice Department. In California and New York, more tax dollars are spent on prison corrections than higher education. Many other states are catching up.

Troy Jones, a 44 year old black male, originally from New Orleans, Louisiana understands these stats from the inside out. He has served time…

No Taxes For New Prisons

Expert Author Glenn T Langohr

As the state seeks to cut crowding, voters favor sentencing modifications for three strike penalties and other non violent drug crimes. The economy plays a major role along with the awareness of a futile drug war and tough sentencing laws that didn't work out as expected. Tough on crime political stances and tough sentencing laws that started in the 1980's during the crack cocaine epidemic, and the three strikes law in 1994…

Should We Decriminalize Drugs to Take The Power Out of The Drug War and The Mexican Drug Cartels?

Expert Author Glenn T Langohr

We now look at drug addiction as a disease in government and medical institutions, so when are we going to end the War on Drugs and how will we? The War on Drugs has only made drug use more desirable by making them more taboo, thus creating an underground culture where it is cool to avoid detection. Fast cars, fast women, flashy tattoos and jewelry and being the man, or woman, that can supply the need is what spurs the desire…

Glenn, this is an amazing post! I will have to read it slowly again, to take it all in.  The drug trade has created its own economy, bigger than the legal one, and there's nothing that really can stop it, right? Too many politicians, police officers, doctors, pharmaceutical companies are standing with their hands in the cookie jar, and nothing will stop them from stuffing their bank accounts. It's a nightmare, really. At least that is how I see it. Do you see a solution? Please make my day and say YES!

we are already friends on a few sites, but I didn't even know I was on this site, until it came up in my gmail but nothing for 2013 ,so I don't know if its not used much or if it was going to my spam or what, but when i went in and I say the friend request from you I had to accept. I got roll call thru to my brother, hes a slow reader but he did tell me that there are 4 other guys in his block that have read a couple of your books,so he decided to go ahead and read it,he thought because I had sent it it must have a mushy romance because he knows Im a big romance reader,I told him that I doubted a book about prison life would be a romance lol however he is finally reading it,I cant wait till he finishes it to let me know how realistic he felt it was compared to his experiences, even tho at his rate of reading,it will be months, but Ill let ya know when he finally finishes it,heck I read it in one day lol

Just now getting a moment to catch up with my comments...thank you so much for letting me know about your book!  Your books sound very interesting!  I have a degree in criminal justice, so I've always been fascinated with the criminal justice system.  I am definitely wanting to read your book, though I'm not sure a review of it would fit in with my blog's genre.  I typically review/feature books that are family friendly.
