The Border Trilogy in Limited Editions

There are a few moments in a writer's life that stand out as landmarks. Holding that first published book in your hands is one of them. The first check is nice, too. Then as each successive book is published, getting it and turning it around, looking at the binding, examining the cover--these are all special, wonderful experiences. Something that you wrote, someone else cared enough about to edit and publish and now it's not just an idea but a thing, solid and real. The joy that accompanies…See More

Season of the Wolf Contest

Today's February 1. My new supernatural thriller, Season of the Wolf, debuts this month.I'd really like people to know about this book, since it's my first novel with publisher DarkFuse and something I've wanted to write for a decade. Plus, it's my fiftieth book, which seems like a reason to celebrate. To that end, I'm holding a contest. Before we get to those details, here are some links you should know about:A brand-new…See More

New Review for THE SLAB

My horror novel The Slab has been around for years, in a lavishly illustrated trade paperback edition. But it's still relatively new as an e-book, and it's picking up new reviews and new readers all the time.  The latest is from the prestigious website horrorworld.org, where the reviewer, TT Zuma says, in part: "This novel is so jam packed with action, morality plays, and diversity, that in lesser hands than Mariotte’s it could have easily become confusing.  If you have ever read and enjoyed…See More

Looking for reviewers horror/thriller

Hi there, I'm the award-winning author of 46 novels (and various short fiction, nonfiction, and more than 100 comic books/graphic novels). Most of my books have been published by the "big 6," mostly Simon & Schuster and Penguin, but I've recently started self-publishing some e-books, reprints and new material. I'd like to spread the word a little more about these, since there's no publisher to do it for me. I can offer e-copies in whatever format you need, and of course understand that…See More

Jeff,

Saw your comment on the "Publish" forum.  Then checked out your blog.  Seems like we are like-minded individuals (politically and artistically) and would probably be friends in real life, as well.

As introduction, I'm a supernatural/horror writer, but my blog is more overall literary based.  Hope you'll stop by. For new friends, I like to recommend my post, "My own Works Cited list: 10 books that have inspired me," with the hopes that you'll comment with some of your own faves.

But if you want a sample of my writing, I did the Friday Flash Fiction this week (The Professional Crier).

Happy Friday!
