My 8 yr old reads middle grade and Junior Fiction- but likes to take a break with an easy book once in a while too. Her favorite to read was Harry Potter. I would see if you could find a copy of Chicken Trek to read with her. It is a super fun book- I will have to put a review on the blog, but it was something I read in 3rd grade and have read it dozens of times since (funny, adventurous, easy read).

I also review a lot of books that I read - YA and Adult Fiction :) Hope you visit often!
