- I was once an idealistic English Major all full of piss and vinegar and designs of becoming a college professor. Now I'm an IT security professional working in Corporate America. Oh, I'm still full of piss and vinegar, but now it's less idealistic piss and vinegar. All that pent up creative energy finds an outlet through book reviews and armchair literary criticism, posted online for the enjoyment (or perhaps the misery) of all.

I am a nurse who always wanted to be an english major but had a stronger urge for food and shelter, not to mention a strange attraction to blood and screaming.( I worked in Labour and delivery for 20 years.)
I read your blog. Great review. Nice to see that Martin Cruz Smith is still writing. Following your reviews by email. Will leave message on your blog.
