A Circle Of Souls by Preetham Grandhi

www.acircleofsouls.com

This is a book that drew me in from the first few pages. A Circle Of Souls is the debut book for Preetham Grandhi. I expected a typical murder mystery, but what I got was something else completely. It definitely was a page turner. I didn't want to put it down… Continue

The Host - Stephenie Meyer

I've also recently read The Host by Stephenie Meyer. I enjoyed the Twilight series so much even if it is said to be geared more towards tweens that I wanted to see what her adult writing was like. I was not disappointed and liked it very much. It kept my interest and made you think about the what if's of an alien invasion and how it would affect our world. The ending I felt left it open for another novel, so I do wonder if she's have one in the future. If so, then it's one I'd definitely buy.

Scavenger - David Morrell

I just finished reading Scavenger by David Morrell. I picked it up after a friend of mine gave me another one of his novels, Creepers. I found that one was a great read, it kept my interest and enjoyed it very much. I didn't find that to be the case with Scavenger though. It was slow starting, at least for me anyway and I had a hard time getting into it. I didn manage to finish, but with much trying. It was one of those books that I picked up in between reading others if you know what I mean.

Scavenger - David Morrell

I've just finished reading Scavenger by David Morrell. I picked it up because a friend of mine had given me Creepers some time ago and I really enjoyed that one. It got my interest from the beginning and kept me there. That wasn't the case with Scavener. I really didn't get into it right away and I had a hard time focusing on it and ended up putting it aside while I read something else. Needless to say I was quite disappointed with it.

The Turnaround by George Pelecanos

I just finished reading The Turnaround by George Pelecanos. This is the first Pelecanos book that I've read and while it did hold my interest it certainly isn't one of those types of stories that would my first pick of reading material. This was one of those books that makes you feel for the characters and I have to admit that I did form opinions but I will keep those to myself. I found it to be disturbing and compelling at the same time so it did keep my interest right until the end. The Turnar… Continue

Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”

Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."

Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"

Book Synopsis:

The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.

The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.
