Profile Information

About Me:
Hi, I am an aspiring author and mom to one very energetic horse and two slightly demonic, yet cute, cats. My first book Midnight Reflections is now up at Amazon.com. It is a mystery thriller involving vampires, werewolves, warlocks and a serial killer. Basically, the story starts with an young woman struggling to deal with being turned into a vampires. Shortly after she begins adapting to her new unlife, a friend of hers is killed and she becomes involved in the investigation into finding the killer. In a world where vampires and werewolves are common and accepted, sometimes it is hard to find the actual monsters.

Two great reviews of Midnight Reflections

Hi, I recently got two great reviews of my book, Midnight Reflections. Bitten By Books gave me 5 out of 5 tombstones and said "Katrina Michaels’ novel Midnight Reflections is a wonderfully written murder mystery. The characters are strong and unique. The suspense entrances the reader’s attention. Each chapter offers new twists and surprises. I enjoyed the building suspense and drawn theories throughout. The author does not disappoint the reader!"

Midnight Reflections summary

Midnight Reflections introduces a society where vampires, werewolves, warlocks, and witches freely roam amongst the ordinary humans. One such human, Tara Daston, only wanted a fun night out dancing with her boyfriend. Getting killed was certainly the last thing she ever expected and waking up three days later as a vampire was the last thing she ever wanted. As Tara struggles with her death and new unlife, she also becomes involved in a hunt for a vicious serial killer. During her own investigati… Continue

First part of my book Midnight Reflections

Here is the first part of Chapter 1 of Midnight Reflections

Chapter One
Lyle Brooks liked jogging late at night when everyone else was home watching TV or getting ready for bed. It was so much quieter than during the day and he found it peaceful. Tonight, the only sound to break the silence was the rhythmic noise of his feet pounding on the stone path. The air seemed fresher, crisper in the darkness, and it always relaxed him. Even after the most stressful of days, jogging still managed to clea… Continue

Well You listed some of the authors I like! LOL I to be honest have not read your work yet. I really did like that cover and that is usually enough for me to look for a book! I'll have to read that "Midnight Reflections" before your next book comes out though...congrats on that by the way!

Sounds great Katrina! We'd be thrilled to put it in the big book giveaway. We think it will generate a lot of interest in titles. I've got family for the holidays for the next few days but we'll set this up within the week so I'll contact you then. What a great idea to have the book signed! Thanks so much!

I'd love to Katrina! We were planning a giveaway with several books available to win and the winners would get to choose from the stack.

Your book could be part of that or, if you prefer, we could have a giveaway that is just for your book. We could also do an interview with you. It is up to you to choose what format you would prefer. Let me know! We look forward to it.

The book is called Demonic Attractions and it's out with several agents at the moment. We're planning a family trip to Ireland for next year and I can't wait. It sounds like a place I would love.

Your book sounds like a lot of fun. These days there is a lot of crossover between YA and adult so that could help your sales. Many teenagers love a good amount of gore. An interview sounds like fun!

I didn't like the TrueBlood series. I watched it for about a month and it's too far off the book series for me.

I'll head over to your website and subscribe. Hope all continues to go well with your book. Are you working on another?

Marketing has to be hard but I know it's important. I'm heading to the library today for more books. I'll put your's on my list and I'll put a review on our blog when I read it. Would you want to do an interview. I know we're new but we're growing!

I'll be very interested in what you think of the TrueBlood series because I have very strong opinions on it. Let me know! I am a huge Eric fan.

I can ride both but I prefer Western just because I feel more secure. My mom has ridden since she was a kid and mostly did English. Even show-jumped professionally on the circuit in Ireland for a couple of years when she was 18. She and I just ride for pleasure. I haven't ridden a gaited horse. From the sounds of the smooth ride, I think I would like it!

Keep me posted on how your book is doing. I'll mention it to my friends who like that kind of thing. Is it adult, YA or a crossover?
