Hello everyone- Before this month, I was exclusively blogging and chating with people I know, or at least those who “know of me” from my little town of Cheboygan, Michigan and throughout my travels. I have recently moved into the fast paced and exciting world of Social Media and I think it is important that I properly introduce myself to my “friends, followers and future book buyers!”
I had an amazing career with Walt Disney World for 9 years in Food & Beverage & then International Recruitment, but something was missing... TRAVEL!
So, I sold my house, my car, gave up my cell phone, de-cluttered my life as the saying goes. I was free of debt, free of responsibility and FREE to travel anywhere my heart would lead me! Everyone, including my parents thought I was completly nuts, but they were very supportive.
I have since completed one 10 month trip around the world visited 33 countries, and 3 separate 5 or 6 month tromps around the globe, reaching 100 countries in 2009. My current number is 117, but I am secretly (or not so secretly) hoping that number continues to grow! Everytime I would come and go from my hometown, before and after my longs trips, people always wanted to know “How I did it, Why I did it, What type of budget was I on, and the list of questions went on and on and at the end of our little chats they would always say “You should write a book!” So, after I reached my goal of 100+ countries, I decided it was time. Soon Travel: The Well-Known Secret will be released!
I hope you enjoy my stories and my rantings and ravings. I love to tell stories and love even more when they make people smile!
