About Me:
M.E. Anders’ life reads like a tale of escape from a modern-day Jonestown. Born the preacher’s kid of a burgeoning fundamentalist society, M.E. battled critical thinking as the unforgivable sin. A near-perfect role model for her religious peers, she won senior superlative for “Most Spiritual” in her class. Solely surrounded by Christian patriarchy quashing questions like unsightly marks upon their holy flesh, she challenged the cult leader face-to-face.

As a result of her confrontation and ensuing flight, her psyche was altered beyond that of the American girl-next-door. In her sectarian college, M.E. Anders studied courses ranging from Understanding Your Husband to Baptist Distinctives. Quite an education to prepare a sheltered woman for a culture outside the group, yet another tactic to deter deserters. Since a writer is both a voracious observer and obsessive thinker, these traits forced M.E. to abandon her status, future, friends, and even family smoldering in the cult’s suppression.

After graduation, M.E. began fashioning her persona from the ashes of the woman she had decimated. Self-identity for a female had been non-existent in her prior group, unless attached to a prominent male figure. In this attempt to discover herself, she dabbled in various occupations: pet store cashier, social services assistant, seamstress, nursing home activities aid, food services cook, urban missions intern, live-in caregiver, personal trainer, exercise instructor, and fitness director. These careers provided life experience, catalysts to her dream of writing full-time.

She plunders her twenty-five years of experiences, fuel for her daring novels. Unafraid to contest the culturally acceptable answers to the big questions, M.E. illuminates truth through thriller fiction.

A recovering Christian, she understands both sides of the religious coin. Not a stereotypical atheist, she embraces rational discussions with believers and skeptics alike. The teenaged M.E. was most influenced by Christian celebrity author, Ted Dekker. He expresses the psychological value attained through supernatural belief. M.E. flips that perception to contend that the mind is optimal when thinking freely, outside the confines of religious doctrine.

M.E. Anders pens psychological tales exploring the difficult questions of the human condition through her thrillers. These sagas excite the mind and stop the heart. Weaving webs of twisting plots are her specialty, horror tempered by mind-bending drama.

Presenting inspirational talks, M.E. overshadows her innate introversion. When she speaks, listeners are mesmerized. Telling a gripping story to a room filled with wide-eyed children or incredulous adults brings her fulfillment. Her passion is to shed light where all is darkness. To bring hope to those living in shadows. Fiction and fact blur seamlessly into her gripping thriller novels.

A devoted wife to husband J.O., whom she thanks for his support of her writing career, M.E. Anders lives in the North Shore suburbs of Chicago, Illinois

Her upcoming books are her Prey to the Gods Series, featuring the psychological journeys of the fundamentalist inner circle.

Hi there, welcome to Book Blogs!

I’m new myself to the site but so far I've found it a great place to meet other blogger friends, so you’ve definitely come to the right place if you want to network with other book lovers and writers. If you’re a fan of paranormal fiction, please give my debut novel Perpetual Night a look. I’m planning to do a giveaway in the near future GoodReads (Click here for my Author Page). And here’s the link to my blog Diary of a Writer in Progress where I talk about my own experiences becoming a published author and review some books for fellow writers. I'll be happy to follow your blog if you follow mine!

Now tell me about you, your blog, and favorite books!
