Favorite Book
Argh! I can't choose just one!
About Me:
I'm a freelance writer and marketing consultant who, obviously enjoys writing and absolutely loves, loves, loves reading. When I was little, I was excited to go to first grade. Why? Because I was going to learn how to read, and unlock the great mysteries of the written word. So many favorites over the years, including Betsy-Tacy-Tib, Nancy Drew, Beany Malone, the Melendy Family ... I tend toward escapist reading today, stuff like mysteries and thrillers and suspense and romance, but I do pick up a biography or other non-fiction too. I'm married and have 3 great daughters. My oldest can give me a run for the money in terms of reading, my middle one, not quite as much and the youngest, it pains me to say, can sort of take it or leave it in the book department. Perhaps it's the ADD that we just found out about less than a year ago. I also love politics and newspapers (former newspaper person!). My husband is a firefighter. And we have 3 cats!

How a Ten Year Old Wrote a Book About Sewing Friendships

Natalie Tinti
April 09, 2010
First, I had lots of help and encouragement from my family and friends. I got the idea for writing the book by observing that so many kids in my world were suffering from anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. Many of these kids had no friends. I just couldn´t imagine having no friends to share my thoughts and dreams with and to talk with about problems. I wrote Sewing a Friendship in hopes that kids and parents who read it will realize the importance of inviting people who seem to be "different" into their lives. The result could be to form fun and lasting friendships.

The plot for "Sewing a Friendship" centers around five girls. Nina, who is happy with her life, loves music. Sokron Blossom finds pleasure in being neat and tidy and loves reading fashion magazines. Meeka loves mind games – the more numbers, the better. Jonsy Jipsy loves to sing and belly dance and all the girls love to share their passions with each other and have fun planning and scheming for their next adventure.
