- I began my writing career covering the police beat for a So. California newspaper. After writing my umpteenth robbery, accident and assault story, I moved to advertising where I was a copywriter for an LA ad agency. I wrote commercials for electronics, beds and a large So. Calif. amusement park (you know the name).
While working in advertising and marketing, I wrote four nonfiction books, one of which was named one of the best business books of the year by the Library Journal and printed in five languages. Two of my books were selected by the Book of the Month Club.
Most recently I wrote regularly for the San Francisco Chronicle covering, among other things, recreation, outdoors, travel and entertainment.
“Cops, Crooks & Other Stories in 100 Words is my first fiction publication and my first ebook. I read mystery and suspense novels and prefer authors who give me enough information, but still manage to surprise me at the end.
I'm working on more 100-word stories and a mystery novel.
