Do you prefer URBAN settings or RURAL settings?

I definitely enjoy reading books set in the city rather than the country or suburbia. More action, more diversity, and less gossip amongst the characters.Continue

Urban Lit

Urban fiction, also known as Street lit, is a literary genre set in a city landscape; however, the genre is as much defined by the race and culture of its characters as the urban setting.

Welcome to Book Blogs! You’ve definitely come to the right place if you want to network with other book lovers and strut your reviewing stuff. Yippee!

I’d like to share a couple of awesome opportunities with you. First, Novel Publicity is currently recruiting bloggers for a gigantic holiday book bash. The prizes are insane and include $3,500 in cash, 3 Kindle Fires, 35 autographed books, and free eBooks for any participants who would like them. Sign-up and info is HERE

The other super cool thing I’d like to share with you is news of the ReaderShip. This is a great site for book lovers, because every single week there is a free book available for download. This week it’s the paranormal YA novel, Forbidden Mind by Kimberly Kinrade, and next week it’ll be something new. You’ll definitely want to hop aboard and see what else we have going on at www.the-readership.com

Thanks and I look forward to getting to know you and your blog better!

Hi there, welcome to Book Blogs!

I’m new myself to the site but so far I've found it a great place to meet other blogger friends, so you’ve definitely come to the right place if you want to network with other book lovers and writers. If you’re a fan of paranormal fiction, please give my debut novel Perpetual Night a look. I’m planning to do a giveaway in the near future GoodReads (Click here for my Author Page). And here’s the link to my blog Diary of a Writer in Progress where I talk about my own experiences becoming a published author and review some books for fellow writers. I'll be happy to follow your blog if you follow mine!

Now tell me about you, your blog, and favorite books!

Gina

Hello and Welcome! I'm kind of new myself - still figuring things out, but so far it seems like everyone is pretty friendly and willing to help/give suggestions if you get stuck, which is a very good thing since this place can be kind of overwhelming! If there's anything I can help with let me know...

And if you have a second, please stop by my blog - www.Jill-Elizabeth.com - I'm always happy to get comments and/or new followers!  I also have a fabulous giveaway going on - you can win a copy of an amazing memoir - What About the Boy? - about a father's refusal to give up hope for his disabled son.  Check it out through 11/8 at http://blog.jill-elizabeth.com/2011/10/25/book-review-and-giveaway-what-about-the-boy-by-stephen-gallup/.

Again, welcome and good luck here!
