5/14/2011 by Max Nightjar,www.kidsmartbooks.blogspot.com/Greetings,     I'm ready to submit my manuscript. I've done the query with some and others were accepting unsolicited manuscripts. I followed the guidelines. Did I forget anything?    What about an agent ...or a publicist? Should I query an agent or publicist for a children's book? Why?How can they help get my book published? take care,Max  See More

Critiques are a lot different than Book Reviews: You go one on one with the author in your presence.

Greetings fellow writers,  I recently completed the children's literature book I was working on titled, "Henry Matters & The DIBS: AIN'T THAT CLEVER". I would like a critique group of 4 people,  on that work as well. Does anyone know any good agents? It is a story of about a boy who receives a very special (traditional) gift from his dad on his tenth birthday, and how it changes his life and the life of his dog, Clever, forever. Now I need a critique group before I submit the work for…See More

Hi, I'm not a literary agent. We help authors who self-publish with editing, production, marketing and PR. Presently we're working with two children's book authors. And I'm working with an author on a Tween book. I do the editing and sometimes hire illustrators, oversee production (we print mainly in China) and then we bring titles to the marketplace. If you're interested, I'm happy to set up a phone call with you to discuss. Best, Gail

Hi Max,

I have never heard of Smashbooks and it doesn't seem to be a legitimate domain name. I have heard of Smashwords and it is quite popular with many of our clients.

You can post the book review on LibraryThing and on bookseller sites/online retailers who have the book listed for sale. There are other sites out there as well --- might be a great question to ask the book bloggers on the NING.

You are most welcome; I look forward to seeing the Children's Lit Group on the Nurture Your BOOKS™ NING.

Thanks again and you too.

All My Best,
Bobbie

Thank you so much, Max, for contacting me. You have some great info on your site. How can I follow your site as well? I don't see google connect. I love mysteries, they are my absolute favorite. Looking forward to staying connected. Good luck on your books. When they get published let me know. I am also a book reviewer.
