- Hi! My name is Merin. It’s pronounced like "Marin County, California", or like the "mer" in "mermaid". Mer-RIN. But don't worry if you say it wrong, because everyone does! I've just finished up my Masters in Library and Information Science via GSLIS at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; great school, great people, great experience! I'm currently working as the Library Assistant in a local elementary school, but am hoping to find a position as a Library Media Specialist for next school year. I love YA lit, as well as MG titles, especially anything dealing with the paranormal; the wide majority of what I read falls under one of those two categories.

One night she comes upon an old painting in an antique store and is compelled to purchase it. When she brings it home an image of a young woman appears in the sketch and then magically materializes in her apartment. Emylene nick-names her 'Poinsettia' and they soon become fast friends.
