I have lived a long and complicated life. I am Michael Phelps - the AUTHOR, NOT the young, good-looking, talented Olympic Champion kid.
I am a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force where I served as a Senior Military Policeman-Combat Defense Forces (Viet Nam). I retired as Chief Investigator for a prominent Miami (FL) Law firm, specializing in criminal defense.
I co-authored "DAVID JANSSEN-MY FUGITIVE" with the iconic actors first wife, ELLIE JANSSEN. Based on the success of this book, upon my retirement, I was challenged to start a new career, that of being a WRITER.
"THE EXECUTION OF JUSTICE" is based on the true story of the murder of a close friend and one-time mentor, Detective Sergeant Jack R. Ohrberg, of the Robbery & Homicide Division of the Indianapolis Police Department. The novel introduces my readers to the "Mike Walsh Detective Novels" series. Two more novels are planned in the series based on actual murder cases I worked on for the law firm; "THE JOCKEY'S JUSTICE", a roller-coaster ride into the sleazy underbelly of the fast, colorfull and dengerous sport of hirse racing is AVAILABLE NOW on all E-Book formats. Third in the "Mike Walsh Detective Novels" series;. "INSANE JUSTICE" involves a double murder in Miami Beach and the tunnel vision of a prosecutor hell-bent to win a conviction and a sentence of death for our client, at any cost.
"SLAYING AN AMERICAN DREAM - The Gus Boulis Story" is based on the contract killing of a Greek immigrant who realized his American Dream by building several businesses, only to have political corrpution lead to his murder. This story goes all the way from Hollywood, Florida to the White House.
"DAVID JANSSEN-Our Conversations" will relate hundreds of conversations with the late actor, my friend DAVID JANSSEN and me over the last fifteen years of his life. Topics range from his career, his drinking habits, Hollywood Stars with whom he worked, his marriage to and divorce from ELLIE JANSSEN, his planned divorce from DANI GRECO JANSSEN, the Viet Nam War, politicians, the two women he truly loved, and lost, and much more.
My comment seems to have disappeared. Welcome. Your books sound quite intriguing and I am now quite anxious to read them. I would love to have you post a guest blog about one of your books or one that you've read. I have been blogging for a while (just writing my "Lucy" stories) but have only added book reviewing recently. I would love for you to visit/follow my blog and let me know. My father and husband are both retired state troopers and you'll see pictures of my West German Shepherds on my blog. (I was reading on your webpage.) Thanks. Donna
