About Me:

WELCOME

I write and it feels good hurl some silent words into the blogosphere.

Here my sentences and exclamation marks can float around in the endless ocean of other unknown blogs. Maybe they make some friends.

Or they might end up in Antarctica. Do you know if penguins read?

I joined Book Blogs to see if I can get more readers and followers for my blog and hopefully meet others who have dreams about writing.

When I first signed up for the class I was actually thinking I wanted broadsword lessons but there weren't any instructors. But when I learned the history of epee from my teacher and found out that the epee was the weapon that ended military heavy armor because of it's flexibility, I was immediately intrigued. Learning the moves, the flip of the wrist, the grace of the footwook, and the speed of epee and foil fighting, I was in love. My book Cassandra's Castle is historically inspired by the revolution in Portugal in 1908-1910, a time when the rapier was the chosen dueling weapon. In my story the exiled king returns and takes on the rebel leader, fighting rapier against saber. My teacher and I discussed the two characters, their strengths and weaknesses and fighting styles and from there chorerographed the duel. It was so much fun!

I LOVED my fencing lessons and can't wait for the intermediate classes. It was so much fun choreographing the duel with my teacher. I mean, really exciting!
