News and status: Official reviewer for two zines and a blog along with other news

Been a bit since I had a chance to post here. I have been invited to be an official reviewer for two 'zines that focus on fantasy, steampunk, horror, dark fantasy, urban fantasy and paranormal. I have also been invited to start posting reviews of any books I read on an official blog for a zine/publisher. Nice. I am all about spreading the book love. The 'zines also post interviews with various authors ranging from Lilith Saintcrow to other urban fantasy authors and the zines post free short…See More

I finally found my password to this again. Go me! So I shall be trying to update this with reviews again. It'll probably mirror my livejournal blog with a few exceptions. To see the livejournal blog: www.shartyrant.livejournal.comLeast I *think* that is the address. It's been a long day and my brain left without my permission (again). Hi, I came across your blog, and I thought you would be the perfect person to contact.

My name is Jay Siva, the founder of EZBuyButton.com, an easy 'buy book' widget for authors. I'm contacting you today because I think you and your readers would love to know about the EZBuyButton widget I've created.

It is the most advanced 'buy now' widget for selling books. I make it free for authors and publishers, worldwide, to quickly and easily create and use our EZBuyButton widget to place on their website or blog to immediately increase the sales of their books, especially if their books are listed for sale in more than one retail store. I made it super easy, with just a few clicks they just copy & paste a piece of code onto their website/blog, and they're done.

The widget allows website visitors to select which device they'd like to use to read the author's book, and then select their preferred retail store that they'd like to purchase the book from. It also geolocates the visitor's location and will send the visitor to the correct country specific retail store so that they can buy the author's book. The widget is also fully customizable, and the author will have access to detailed real-time statistics of the use of their widget.

I would like to invite you to visit my website, and try out the EZBuyButton widget. I hope you find that my widget will be useful to you and your readers, including all the authors, literary agents, and publishers you're in contact with.

My website is http://www.ezbuybutton.com.

If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them for you. Thank you for your time.

kindest regards,
Jay Siva

I was wondering if you would like to review my book for your blog or sites such as Amazon. Do visit www.acircleofsouls.com to read more about the book. If you would like to read it I can mail an advance readers copy to you. Thanks for your time in advance.

Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”

Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."

Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"

Book Synopsis:

The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.

The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.

Hi,

My name is Chris Tusa, and I'm a writer from New Orleans. I am writing because my debut novel, Dirty Little Angels, is now available, and I was hoping you might be willing to mention it on your blog (or review it). If you're interested, I'd be glad to send you an e-book version of the book. Just let me know. I've included a summary of the novel below:

Dirty Little Angels
Set in the slums of New Orleans, among clusters of crack houses and abandoned buildings, Dirty Little Angels is the story of sixteen year old Hailey Trosclair. When the Trosclair family suffers a string of financial hardships and a miscarriage, Hailey finds herself looking to God to save her family. When her prayers go unanswered, Hailey puts her faith in Moses Watkins, a failed preacher and ex-con. Fascinated by Moses's lopsided view of religion, Hailey, and her brother Cyrus, begin spending time down at an abandoned bank that Moses plans to convert into a drive-through church. Gradually, though, Moses's twisted religious beliefs become increasingly more violent, and Hailey and Cyrus soon find themselves trapped in a world of danger and fear from which there may be no escape.

If you'd like to read the first chapter before you commit, feel free to visit my web site:

Thanks so much,
Chris

I found Good Omens through browsing through library stacks, which is how I find a lot of great books, although lately I've been hearing about them through posts on www.LibraryThing.com, where I am Storeetllr. If you haven't tried LT yet, it's a great website for lovers of books.

That's awesome that you got Black Magic Woman in time to tide you over till you can get to the library/bookstores! Did you like it?
So far, so good with the laptop, so I'm hoping that the "three times" sent back to the techs was it! LOL

Hmmm, I never noticed that problem on Amazon! I've posted reviews for books that I haven't bought from them on both the Amazon.com and Amazon.ca websites. I usually am on Chapters.ca as it's the main big bookstore here in Canada and I'm in the "community" there. That sucks that you're having problems. Did you change the "status" of the book to "I Own It" instead of having it listed in a wishlist or recommendations? That's the only thing I can think of.
