About Me:
I have spent the last 22 months living in a surreal nightmare. My darling son Nick, 15, died on October 30th, 2006. My husband, daughter Madeleine and I have tried desperately to fill the void in various ways. I have returned to the pleasures and escape of my youth and buried myself in my reading. I work as an Educational Assistant with teenagers at a high school.
I named my daughter Madeleine after my favourite author as a child...Madeleine L'Engle.

Get Positively Beautiful by Carmindy

Full Description

According to a recent study, only 2% of women describe themselves as 'beautiful.' The media instructs women how to 'look ten years younger,' 'cover up wrinkles,' or 'get fuller, plumper lips.' And even makeup products play off womens' insecurities, promising to conceal perceived flaws, define cheekbones, or make eyelashes fuller and longer. The underlying message? That there's something inherently wrong with the way women look and that they have to spend time,…

Hi, I came across your blog, and I thought you would be the perfect person to contact.

My name is Jay Siva, the founder of EZBuyButton.com, an easy 'buy book' widget for authors. I'm contacting you today because I think you and your readers would love to know about the EZBuyButton widget I've created.

It is the most advanced 'buy now' widget for selling books. I make it free for authors and publishers, worldwide, to quickly and easily create and use our EZBuyButton widget to place on their website or blog to immediately increase the sales of their books, especially if their books are listed for sale in more than one retail store. I made it super easy, with just a few clicks they just copy & paste a piece of code onto their website/blog, and they're done.

The widget allows website visitors to select which device they'd like to use to read the author's book, and then select their preferred retail store that they'd like to purchase the book from. It also geolocates the visitor's location and will send the visitor to the correct country specific retail store so that they can buy the author's book. The widget is also fully customizable, and the author will have access to detailed real-time statistics of the use of their widget.

I would like to invite you to visit my website, and try out the EZBuyButton widget. I hope you find that my widget will be useful to you and your readers, including all the authors, literary agents, and publishers you're in contact with.

My website is http://www.ezbuybutton.com.

If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them for you. Thank you for your time.

kindest regards,
Jay Siva

I would love to conduct the biggest blog hop ever through the month of September and sincerely hope you will please ... pretty please ... take just a moment of your time, read what I have in mind and join me.

I first was going to run a release contest and canceled it in lieu of doing this. Right of passage into the world of romance fiction is a challenge unto itself especially when you're a new author breaking into the business. I am finding myself amongst the ranks of the unemployed for the second time in almost two years and other than standing on my head and whistling dixie, doing a large blog hop is the only way I can think of getting in front of the masses.

I've set aside the last of my savings to offer something unique to your followers as well as make it as rewarding and fun as possible for you as well.

Not only will one of your followers have a chance at 5 fabulous prizes but to show my heartfelt appreciation, each participating blog owner will also be entered to win from a separate group of the same 5 prizes. A total of $600.00 in giveaways. I'm not requesting reviews be done because I've been blessed with some beautiful ones which are posted on my website we can refer your followers to.

All I'm asking is a post noting my book cover, trailer and back cover blurb. If you have already promoted my book, you are still welcome to participate again and we'll work it as a release reminder instead. You can check out the prizes on my website, copy & paste them along with the rules (or I'll forward the jpgs. to you). My website will act as the official home site for listing all the participating blogs, to expose you to my followers as well and lend a helping hand. I will have a third party source conduct the final random drawings for both the followers and bloggers.

I've never done this before and if you have any other suggestions ... I'm all ears.

Will you please help me make this the biggest promotional blog hop ever?

Dear Book Lover:

On Jan 9th, 2010 my debut novel, SUGAR will celebrate its 10th anniversary and in order to commemorate this milestone I am campaigning to sell 10,000 copies between now and that date.

“Bernice L. McFadden's first novel begins with the brief, poetic description of a crime so startling that the reader is helplessly drawn in, as if a bright red door stood ajar on a bleak and forbidding house. Pearl Taylor's daughter, Jude, has been found murdered and mutilated near a field at the edge of town. "The murder had white man written all over it," writes McFadden. "But no one would say it above a whisper. It was 1940. It was Bigelow, Arkansas. It was a black child. Need any more be said?" In the years that follow, Pearl catches sight of Jude in so many strangers that when Sugar Lacey comes to town and sets up her unwholesome "business" in the house next door, she doesn't know whether to believe what she sees in Sugar's face: a striking similarity to Jude, dead 15 years. In her sedate but supple prose--rising at times to a light, unforced lyricism in the description of landscape or character--the author perfectly renders the closed and protective society of a small Southern town, the superstitions, gossip, and prying.”

I’m asking that you purchase a copy of SUGAR for yourself, a friend or family member. And if you could help spread the word by blogging, twittering ad Face-booking my campaign, it would mean the world to me.

Peace & Light,

Bernice L. McFadden

Hi Tamara,

My name is Chris Tusa, and I'm a writer from New Orleans. I am writing because my debut novel, Dirty Little Angels, is now available, and I was hoping you might be willing to mention it on your blog (or review it). If you're interested, I'd be glad to send you an e-book version of the book. Just let me know. I've included a summary of the novel below:

Dirty Little Angels
Set in the slums of New Orleans, among clusters of crack houses and abandoned buildings, Dirty Little Angels is the story of sixteen year old Hailey Trosclair. When the Trosclair family suffers a string of financial hardships and a miscarriage, Hailey finds herself looking to God to save her family. When her prayers go unanswered, Hailey puts her faith in Moses Watkins, a failed preacher and ex-con. Fascinated by Moses's lopsided view of religion, Hailey, and her brother Cyrus, begin spending time down at an abandoned bank that Moses plans to convert into a drive-through church. Gradually, though, Moses's twisted religious beliefs become increasingly more violent, and Hailey and Cyrus soon find themselves trapped in a world of danger and fear from which there may be no escape.

If you'd like to read the first chapter before you commit, feel free to visit my web site:

Thanks so much,
Chris

Tamara, I just want to offer you my deepest prayers and thoughts. I lost my son January 9th 2006. He was 27 and the most gentle young man. I mourn him daily and know the deepest void that nothing can fill. It is hard for people to understand the loss of a child unless they have gone through it. It is not the same as losing a parent who has live a long full life. I lived in a dark place for a long time. I feel like I am slowly coming out of that place, but it is so dull, as if the light is different now. I will pray for you and your family for this terrible loss.
