- Obviously, like many of you I received a gift of loving books and reading when I was very young. Thanks, Mom!!! I now teach library media to K-5 students in an elementary school. I worked at the middle school for a bout 5 years, but my heart was always with the place where I learned to love reading and the smell of a newly opened book for the first time.

When her prayers go unanswered, Hailey puts her faith in Moses Watkins, a failed preacher and ex-con. Fascinated by Moses's lopsided view of religion, Hailey, and her brother Cyrus, begin spending time down at an abandoned bank that Moses plans to convert into a drive-through church.
