About Me:
I inhale books when I'm not hanging with the hubby or son, working, playing games (board, card, console), or working on a puzzle or two. My favorite genre is fantasy, but I also read mysteries, chick-lit, historical fiction, and autobiographies.

I also work full-time, so may not participate in the blogging community as much as I'd like to. There are an awful lot of awesome bloggers out there!

Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”

Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."

Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"

Book Synopsis:

The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.

The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.

Journey from Shanghai, by Lucille Belluci, I believe is autobiographical. Not a new book but one I have on my list to read. I see that Lisa See has a new novel out as well, about women who travel from Shanghai in the 1930s and find themselves in the US

Hi Drey. Welcome! If you like mysteries, you might like Sujata Massey who writes about modern Japan; Laura Joh Rowland who writes about ancient Japan.

The Samurai's Garden is a popular book and you might like that.

I liked A Free Life by Ha Jin, about a Chinese immigrant's experience in the US. A more serious book but one I really liked.

I did a review of Guo's books, one is A Concise English-Chinese Dictionary for Lovers, about a Chinese student in England.

Hope that helps. Let me know if none of the above work out for you. There are more!!

Hi,

My name is Chris Tusa, and I'm a writer from New Orleans. My debut novel, Dirty Little Angels, is now available, and I was hoping you might be willing to mention it on your blog (or consider it for review). If you'd like to review the book, I'd be glad to send you a copy (in e-book format). Let me know. I've included a summary of the novel below:

Dirty Little Angels
Set in the slums of New Orleans, among clusters of crack houses and abandoned buildings, Dirty Little Angels is the story of sixteen year old Hailey Trosclair. When the Trosclair family suffers a string of financial hardships and a miscarriage, Hailey finds herself looking to God to save her family. When her prayers go unanswered, Hailey puts her faith in Moses Watkins, a failed preacher and ex-con. Fascinated by Moses's lopsided view of religion, Hailey, and her brother Cyrus, begin spending time down at an abandoned bank that Moses plans to convert into a drive-through church. Gradually, though, Moses's twisted religious beliefs become increasingly more violent, and Hailey and Cyrus soon find themselves trapped in a world of danger and fear from which there may be no escape.

If you'd like to read the first chapter before you commit, feel free to visit my web site:

Thanks so much,
Chris
