Poem - 'Alone'

My latest poem entitled 'Alone' can be viewed on my website James Darcy  ALONE The wind is from the north today, A bitter chill from far away, I closed the door to a crooked frame, It screeched against the timber stain, Worn out paint, a broken cast iron lock, A story told beneath an idle clock, It’s watched me come and go…See More

Poem - 'La Place'

LA PLACE Hand in hand they swish and swayTheir fingers locked, entwined as if to pray.I heard them first, their energy their sound,A surge of colour, a rainbow with shopping bags abound. My vantage point a window seat through pane of glass I see,Obscured the winter sunlight that washes over me.And nothing more a sideways glanceThe corner of an eyeAn act of kindness retrieves the fallen gloveBefore the stranger passes…See More

The Deafening Sound of Silence

It was only a few weeks ago when I passed St Joseph's as the congregation ebbed away after Sunday Mass, smiling faces, hugs and handshakes, the slamming of a car door and waves through a window, I have to confess to a pang of guilt as I passed the church doors. I hadn't until now linked the two events, why would I, after all, the only thing both have in common is that they took place less than half a mile apart, well that and the subject of worship. Don't get me wrong I am not in any way…See More

A Momentary Pause

I always head for the automatic doors, it's just what I do, and perhaps like some of you I catch my own reflection in the reinforced glass wall, before the sound of the motor and that gentle reassuring hum, opening both sides, welcoming me in, in from the cold, the shopping mall the high altar and all without touching, without the need for the routine tugging on my jacket sleeve slipping off my shoulder, pulled down around my fingers to grapple with the steel bar of a million unhygienic…See More

About Me:
I am an Author living in Southampton, England. I prefer to write early evenings, my desk, an old Victorian flip lid complete with clay inkwell, can be found covered in poems, short stories and manuscripts fighting for space with a small light and a laptop that has seen better days. My writing style is driven by human observation and an emotional journey often tinged with sadness recognised and embraced by those that claim to have lived a life, be it now or in the past.

I live alone writing and working and not always in that order.

Hi and welcome to Book Blogs! I've met some great people here, and everyone is very friendly and helpful. If you need any help or have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. When you have a moment, please check out my blog at http://falln2books.blogspot.com

If you follow my blog and leave me a comment (on the blog, not on Book Blogs) that you're following me, then I'll follow you back! I don't check Book Blogs as often as I check my blog, so to ensure that you're followed back, it's best to comment on my blog itself.

Thanks and have a great day!

Hi! Welcome to Book Blogs—if you are in the oftentimes horrific proposal / query letter process and are hunting for that elusive agent OR… if you have decided to go the ebook way…then join me at The Agent Challenge.
