When I wrote my narrative non-fiction book about a remarkable woman who left affluence to minister to the impoverished in the rugged Appalachian Mountains of eastern Kentucky, I had two goals. I have now posted a short video about the book and children suffering from poverty in the Appalachian Mountains of eastern Kentucky. I do believe this issue is important and yet is ignored by Washington, who seem more interested in their own agendas than in helping our hungry children.

I've been intrigued by the response for my book, There Is No Hope Here, as readers express surprise that third world living conditions exist in the Appalachian region of eastern Kentucky and that so many children suffer from a lack of food, clothing, and live without much hope. So, I'm going to make a You Tube video to synopsize the conditions and the lack of political will. I'll let you know when it's out.…
