My sister, Becky, gave my mom, my aunt, and me all Firefly Lane at Christmas time and I finished it a couple of weeks ago with tears in my eyes. The story follows two best friends, Tully Heart and Kate Mularkey, through their lifelong journey together; starting in the 70's and ends at the present time. There are some great times that the two friends have together and some tear-jerking hardships that they must work through. The story has a lot of…

Fractured was my first audio book and a great recommendation from Becky. The prolouge introduces the story with a mother walking in on her daughter's murdered body and the murderer, knife still in hand, standing over it. After that, the surprises begin! The story follows Special Agent Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and his search to find the truth behind this tragedy. I don't want to tell you more than that, for fear of giving…

In my first post on this topic, I mentioned that I would post more about who God is throughout the year.
Here is more of what I've learned as I've read my Bible on a Bible reading plan to carry me through the entire Bible in a year.
God is gracious, compassionate, patient, and mercifully loving.
"Return to the LORD your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and He relents from sending calamity." (Joel 2:13b,…

The 9 (Nine) Biggest Reasons Most First-Time Writers Fail to Become Published Authors
Writing a book and becoming a published author is a common dream. As Harry Beckwith wrote in The Invisible Touch, “If you want to change your life, write a book.” But writing a book is no easy task. There are few people who can just sit down and crank out a few hundred pages. Most of us have to work hard at…

As I read attempted Pride and Prejudice sequels, I'm always hopeful that the latest one will be a delight. They rarely are, and this one is no exception. Lydia was never someone I really cared about as I read Pride and Prejudice. She's more the annoying gnat that keeps buzzing around your head: the one you keep slapping away. This book is simply a light peek into the life of Lydia Bennet, one of the silliest girls in all of England.
The story is…

Cadence, book 2 in the American Anthem series, picks up where Prelude ends. I enjoyed it even more than the first one.
Dr. Andrew Carmichael wonders how he will tell Dr. Bethany Cole of his love for her, and when he does, what will her reaction be when she learns of his past.
The MacGovern family finds that America isn't quite as promising as they had anticipated. However, a chance encounter with a stallion, recently purchased by…

Here's the second part of "How To Drive Traffic To Your Blog."
BREAK YOUR CONTENT INTO MORE THAN ONE POST
I did this in yesterday's post, but I didn't do it merely to get you back here today. Posts that are too long tend to turn readers off. Not all content will allow you to do this, but some will. Take advantage of it.
I also...

I'm unable to be in the same room as someone that is reading one of my books. It can be friends or family, or a complete stranger, but my reaction's always the same - a mix of excruciating embarrassment and curiosity, and a feeling, really, as though I've been stripped entirely naked and everyone is staring at me.
I think it's because writing is such a personal thing. When you write, there's only you, and the paper (or these days a PC screen), and nothing else. The ideas, the images,…

Blood Meridian, by Cormac McCarthy
About that ending. Many years later in 1878, the kid runs into the judge in whore-infested Fort Griffin, sees him drinking whisky in a bar, the sort of scene we all can easily see thanks to countless movie scenes; and like many times throughout the novel, the kid tells the judge that he’s crazy, “you ain’t nothin.” The judge replies:
“You speak truer than you know. Only that man who has offered up himself entire to the blood of war, who…

"No where to run, no where to hide."
Sixteen-year old Kelly James is in trouble. She had hacked into the government's main computer system and was halfway through nine levels when she got caught on campus. Kelly got whisked away to serve a jail sentence in juvenile detention with a bunch of outlaws. Unfortunately, it was not her fault at all, she wasn't doing it for fun either.
She did it for David , her unbelievably…

We all enter into the world of blogging for different reasons.
For some it is a place to share thoughts and opinions. For others it is a source of income. For yet others it is an outlet of creative expression, or maybe an attempt to educate and influence others.
Whatever your reason for blogging, we all have something in common. We want our message to be heard.
The only way to accomplish that is by increasing traffic to your blog.
How to do that? Let…
