A Promise Kept tells the heart wrenching true story of how the author comes to terms with a horrifying tragedy. Book Outline Provides Direction for "Jefferson’s Masterpiece"

Developing the outline for Jefferson’s Masterpiece was easier than I had expected. The fact that I had taken care to prepare and organize the notes I made during the research process and to categorize the resource material – sometimes under multiple topics – made the task of preparing the outline a lot easier. In addition, since specific activities took place during the seven-week period the story will

cover, the outline almost…

Picnic Today.

We had a picnic today in a Wisconsin State Park. I wish everyone would do things like that on odd days. I think it would be great for everyones mental health. Even if you live alone....you could take a sandwich to a park..be safe...but eat outside, even in winter. it is amazing how many birds are already doing thier Spring Thing. Cardinals are pairing up already. ... all is getting ready for.....warmth and sunshine. it is...NICE.

Review: The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold.

The Lovely Bones is a number one best seller and the debut novel of Alice Sebold. The Lovely Bones was the second book to be published by Alice Sebold, but the first novel however, before this she written a memoir called Lucky recounting her own life as a young woman and the experiences of rape and the effect it had on her in future life. Yet Lucky was not the book that got Sebold recognised, but the novel in question The…

Runaway Storm

Nate was not a happy camper in more ways than one. His mother was leaving him with him with his father for the summer while she ran off to “do her own thing” in Paris with her newest boyfriend.

Nate’s dad had planned a month of kayaking in the Gulf Islands but at the last minute informed Nate he was canceling their plans because of “urgent business”.

As Sam and Nate talked, Nate decided he was going to go to Vancouver anyway and kayak…

My Own Defense of Fantasy

"In Defense of Fantasy" posts seem to be spreading around the blogosphere lately, so I figured I'd chime in with a version of my own. Why on earth do I like fantasy novels so much, anyway?

In part it's due to a bit of wish fulfillment. In a world full of problems, curling up with a fantasy novel allows me a little bit of escape. Even though the characters that I get involved with have problems of their own, problems that I often wouldn't want to deal with (I don't think I'm set up… Continue
