This debut novel by southerner Kathryn Stockett is a beautifully written story of three women, who for their own reasons join together to tell stories of what its like to work as a maid for white women in the 1960's during the Civil Rights Movement. There is so much to this story besides the obvious and i recommend it highly as I'm sure it will be a favorite of book lovers. You can read my full review
here.

ok this is my first post, as well as my first blog, ever. I just finished reading I am Legend by Richard Matheson. I enjoyed the book very much. Wasn't too sure what to expect as my ony connection with the story was the movie with Will Smith. This is one of those tell tale times when the book blows the movie out of the water. Throughout the book I found myself juggling with the thought of starting another book. Matheson's story is done in 3 parts with leaps in time between each part. the first…

If you haven’t read Robert Dugoni, you should. He’s my new favorite author. Dugoni writes legal thrillers, but they’re not trial books, they’re books about injustice with a legal bent. In Wrongful Death Dugoni brings back his protagonist David Sloane and his sidekick, Charles Jenkins, from The Jury Master, and I’m glad he did. Sloane is a great character, a hero with a conscience. Now living in Seattle, Sloane is approached by the widow of a National Guardsman killed in Iraq who wants to sue…

A Vow of Silence is an epic for our time. It is a story that explores both the depths of self-centered narcissism and one man's spiritually directed- and driven- quest to purify- to expunge- the unworthy. A story not to be missed.
