Alien Writer Offers Nirvana To The Masses

A force so gifted with the ability to phrase things in a way that appeals to the masses—as if he were speaking to each of you individually, and offering you a heavenly service at the same time—is foreign

to our understanding.

This alien force presents itself in a way we can all comprehend, and take pleasure in the…

Graphic Novel Friday Stephen King The Dark Tower/ The Gunslinger Born

Let me just start off by saying that what piqued my interest in this series is that it is being made into a movie and television series simultaneously. The graphic novel put out by Marvel Comics has many hands in

its production and creation, here goes: Stephen King- Creative & Executive

Director, Peter David –Script, Jae Lee & Richard Isanove- Art. The number

of novels I have read by Stephen King is zero; this is my first one. He is

Book Signing-Terry McMillan

During this year’s visit to the Los Angeles Times Festival of books,

I had the chance to attend a panel with the famous author of whom I’m

sure everyone has heard, even if you haven’t read her material. Terry McMillan.

I was excited to see her in person. I read her best seller “Waiting to Exhale” when I was just 13 years old. Even then, I fell in love with this woman’s talent. I was…

Delicious salad recipes: eat healthy!

Like so many of us, I've been working on eating better. (Actually, I already eat pretty healthy fare, I just eat too much of it! And have a few too many evenings where a glass of wine while cooking dinner seems like a good idea!) And I'm always on the lookout for ways to snazz up salads. I love them, but just plain lettuce is ... just plain.

Via book review, I've found this GREAT salad cookbook called "Camelot's Kitchen." (And as a lover of… Continue

Graphic Novel Friday Batman International

This story of The Batman goes overseas to three different countries in Batman International. The other interest and neat aspect of the graphic novel is that it has three different authors and three different

artists giving each story its own feel and flavor. The three countries he gets

to patrol: The Scottish Isle, Spain, and in a flashback, somewhere in The East

as he was in his youth training. I like the way they put the three together…
